Incardona to McWhorter

Thanks for your concern, but I'm not exactly missing any meals, and I won't be sleeping in the street any time soon. I've owned four poolrooms/sports bars. I own my own home and have a family interest in quite a few rental properties.

But I only get my teeth cleaned once a year, so I guess we're even.

Hey Jay I hope you dont take it as an insult. I just marvel at you guys who can do this. I couldnt. I also met your mom a while back and she seemed like a real nice person and can imagine you had a good upbringing as well so you could face the future the right way.

For all the sincere people that would like to follow my dream and end up independently wealthy I will give you the recipe. But you must first understand that information like this comes with a price .Fortunately it's a price that anyone can afford.I will show you how you can start with $5,000 and in 40 short years end up wealthy.Send me a check for $500 and you will get the entire scoop, everything. No personal checks, money orders or certified checks only.

Hey Billy can we do this the old way like they did at Ames'. Can I just follow you around and carry your pool case and go out and get you sandwiches and coffee when you need it. After a year of this maybe I'll learn some of your secrets.

Thanks, she is a good ole gal. Still going strong at 87. I have a wonderful secret about her that is pool related. I will reveal it in my book, if she gives me the okay. This one is guaranteed to surprise you. I know it did me when I found out. I will give you one clue. It involves a man with initials WT. He is well known in pool circles. You can PM me if you think you know. I will not answer this one publicly yet.

Unlike many of you, I never really had a regular 9 to 5 job. Oh, maybe for a short time when I was young, I was an accountant. I just liked having my own business better, and it worked out all right for me.

Billy, your offer seems sincere and piques my interest and the $500 seems a reasonable figure. My problem is that I have already sent off $6.00 and I spend every day standing by my mailbox awaiting my returns of wealth.

( there seems to be some trouble with my mail, so as a backup plan, I've sent $8,000 to my new online friend, a high ranking Official in the Nigerian government and he assures me that I'll receive $8,900,000.00 when all my banking info reaches him )

P.S.
I'm also awaiting a huge refund to my VISA card from Kevin Trudeau.... I think I'm set for life )

tom: First of all, if he wanted me to know he'd tell me. Secondly, it's none of my business. Last but not least, it's just NOT DONE !...IT'S PRIVATE !

haha, I didn't mean to start any squabbling :(
I agree that private things are none my of business, and that if someone wants me to know something private about them, I should wait until they want to tell me rather than ask.

But how a guy makes his living is nowhere near the same kind of 'private' as "what's your favorite sexual position" or something. I'm asking the kind of question that 95% of the time has a perfectly harmless, boring and innocent answer that nobody has to be ashamed of. People seem worried about the other 5% who might be criminals and want to keep illegal earnings under wraps. Gosh, I hope I don't seem like I have bad manners to a classy drug dealer or bookie, lol. But seriously, I don't think the original poster was asking because he planned on phoning the IRS about B.I. =)

I know I'm going on forever about this, and my goal is not to argue about it, the general topic of what's good/bad manners is something I always found interesting. There's a lot of stuff that is rude now but later won't be, and vice versa. It's kind of fun to think about the origin of some of these things, like... why was it rude to eat with your elbows on the dinner table?

Maybe the whole "where do you get your money" taboo came from the days of prohibition where half the people on the street were breaking the law every day, and there were millions of illegal businesses being run by otherwise law-abiding people. Asking about their living might make them feel nervous, like you were looking to dime them to the cops... or you might even be asking a gangster and risking your life.

Then again maybe it came from the world of the very wealthy, where commenting on the cost of things or asking about the source of their money implied you cared about money, and that automatically put you lower on the social ladder (as one of the plebeians who had so little money that they actually had to think about it vs those who had so much they never do).

No shame in my game?? What exactly does that mean? That could very easily be interpeted as a slandering inference. I was once accused of being a hit man for the mob, taking down knockers and mud-slinging people. But both you and I know that's not true.Do you personally think that would be scary if it was??

LMAO!!!!!!!
