Introducing Cohen Cues

All these cues look like copys of Ed Prewitt cues in some way or another. Rich

After reading your post, I went over to this thread to take a look at a bunch of Prewitts.

I did see one design that looked similar. That said, I don't think Mr. Prewitt invented notched diamonds, dots or veneered windows. These designs are classic, the colors are common and they are done by many cue makers. Many customers also have similar preferences. Therefore, many similar cues will be made, by many different makers, in order to fill this demand.

This is a new cue maker who is turning out some really nice work and is trying to make a name for himself. Don't try to ruin that by tossing out baseless comments implying that these cues are copies. That is probably one of the worst accusations that can be thrown at a cue maker.

We have all seen copies on this forum before... blatant, unashamed copies. Photos of which have been posted side-by-side with the original, just to show how detailed and exact the copy was.

If you can provide any type of similar pictorial evidence showing that any of these designs are copies, please do so. If that is the case, it should be brought to our attention.

However, until you can show evidence like this, leave well enough alone. Eddie is a talented guy. Let him get his business growing... free of any false accusations.

Cheers,

Mike

You must be good friends with him? All I said was they looked like Ed Prewitt cues. Did not bash Eddie or his cues or say anthing degrading about him or his work. But this is how it is on az with some people. All I did was make a comment and you take it the wrong way and make a big stink of it. Everyone has an opinion buddy, and this is mine and this is america.Who the F--k do you think you are you anyway.I forgot more about cues than YOU know.Plus your from california where there are alot of good cuemakers live, and you don't see any of this. You just showed me,you don't know a damn thing about cues. You can probaly put your knowledge inside a timble and it will rattle. Oh by the way I think Pete Tonkin makes one HELL of a cue and my good friend Pete Tascarella, and my good friend Ernie that makes gina cues, and ED PREWITT that is 3 years behind in orders, you see buddy ,all I did was MAKE A COMMENT> This is a america where the F--K do you think you live?????Rich aka the skunk.

I'm not good friends with him, but he has made a couple of cues for me.

You did not say that they looked like Ed Prewitt cues.

You said" "All these cues look like copys of Ed Prewitt cues in some way or another."

When you include the word "copy," the statement takes on a different connotation. That is what made me misunderstand the original intent of your message (as can often happen via typed communications... especially on forums).

Anyhow, a response such as the one you tendered, as full of class and grammatical splendor as it is, tells me everything I need to know.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Easy boys - slow your roll. We sure are an excitable bunch. I don't think that what knowitall (the Skunk) said was meant as an insult - the part about the cues looking like other maker's style. It has been said that imitation is the highest form of flattery. Almost every cuemaker over the last 20 plus years has tried to make a cue that looked like a Bushka. And - we all order cues at some point referencing photos of other cues stating " I would like this style of cue, the points like this, put this type of ringwork, etc." For the record - I think Mr. Cohen's cues look VERY nice. I also think that they look like he is using knowledge and examples of techniques used by his cuemaker teachers and mentors. That is what he is supposed to do!!! They look like an amalgamation of all the great cuemakers best examples - including Mr. Prewett. Know it all (the Skunk) was just making a comment - I know him well and don't believe it was ill intended. That's just how he talks. He is actually a wealth of cue knowledge. I have learned a lot from him. And he is as excitable as they come - LOL. But he is not malicious. Yes - we are friends. He is good people as they say - and would help you in any way he could. Mr. Cohen - just to let you know - the Skunk is a mench - I know that you will know what that means - and that word says it all.

These are all some nice looking cues, any of which I would not mind owning.

Looking forward to seeing this cuemakers future builds.

Beautiful cues. Best of luck and success. Work like yours will sell itself.

Do you have a website or Facebook page Eddie?
What is your lead time and do you have some price examples of some of your cues?

All the cues you have posted are gorgeous and i would like to own one!

After viewing them in person i 'd be proud to own any of them and would probably have bought the segmented handle rosewood cue but I had already spent my cash.

It was nice meeting you at the expo.
What is the name you have in Hebrew on the cue?

I love the fact that you said you built cues for their "playability", rather than looks. If that is the case, then your cues have to be some of the best playing cues made because these are some of the best looking cues I ever saw. Would love to try one out.

Aloha and thanks for sharing. Hope you sell a bunch.

Very nice work Eddie. As someone who has started down the path of cue making myself, I applaud your efforts. Your designs are timeless! Keep up the good work and best of luck in the future. After all, the HOFamers have to retire sometime, and that will leave the door open for guys like us!

I woud be willing to bet, it will not be long before Eddie's Cues have a very long waiting list. Having snagged one myself this is MHO.
