Is imitation the highest form of flattery?

When someone starts a thread, they usually hope to receive responses.
You make an accusation of Ozone Billiards carrying a line of cue cases
that are copied from someone elses design.

I guess once again you are only interested in upping your post count by a couple and not participating in the thread that you started.

Oh, I get it, this was just another of your info threads. Well, thanks for the info Bruce.

Bad Ozone, Bad. I will never purchase anything from them.

So here is a private message I get from Bruce:
"I do not want you to think I am ignoring your questions. I choose to just ignore you, and your questions.".

I am glad you cleared that one up. I guess I'll just assume that you're ignoring my question.

Now, when I go out, I will probably get into a car accident because I am going to be wondering whos stealing whos design and not paying attention to the road. I'll send you the repair bill Bruce.

Whos design is being copied in your opinion?

Who are they copying?

They are cowboy cases. The whole notion is overdone IMHO, done, re-done, and now a very generic form of case design the way I see it.

Am I missing something?
.

So ozone billiards is copying ozone billiards in that they are 'both' carrying the same third party billiard cue cases? 5

Clearly there are several Justis "inspired" cases there. If I were Jack, I would not be happy... I'm sure there is no law aginst it, but I would think that a person's morals would lead him to combine his talents with some creativity to produce something that is his own creation rather than someone elses.

Common...

Guys common...there are more than 1000 cowboy case designs I know. Influences in design exists in any industry (car making, sportswear including shoes, cue making....ect). You can not blame a company for making almost the same design you already did 5 years ago. I do respect case makers for their work but believe me they are inspired by others before them and so on.
Seems to me a good offer from OzB. I hate them, tho for a lot of reasons in the past...but I won't blame them for this.
Whoever knows the production industry will give me credit. To make a new design for any product line is not that easy and the fact that you were inspired by some people in the past is good for the product.
IMO.

What did you want them to do...wrap the "TRIBUTE" wrapper around them to make it ok?

Nick

Are they Justis "tributes"? I thought they were "tributes" to Barton's "tributes" to Flowers (or would that be a Flowers tribute?).

Maybe you clicked the link prior to the edit.

These are clearly knock offs of Jack Justis' current Pro-Lite design including the innovative single tube PVC rather than the individual commerically available tubes as well as the brass "wear ring" at the base.

This isn't simply a nod to Jay Flowers.

You act like this is the first case company to knock off a case design.

BTW when you go to bed with a porcupine expect to pull a few needles out of your a$$ in the morning.

The good part is, Culo started a thread, people responded and he probably got a bone for the rest of the day.

I don't think Bruce like me any longer after I rescinded his friendship request.
