Is it really necessary???

Although it's sometimes annoying when other members over-bump, if the item sells, I say more power to them.
The forum isn't broken and we don't need more rules.
There is one specific member, and I won't name names, but lets call him acedonkeyace, who is treating AZ like it's Craigslist.
Let's face it, if it wasn't for acedonkeyace, this thread would not exist.
The guy started 4-threads about getting a value on an old Viking cue, and nobody said anything about it.
After I gave my opinion, he started more threads about the same Viking.

Now that this has been mentioned publicly, the mods need to get involved.
He had over 50-posts to his for sale threads yesterday, mostly bumps.
Acedonkeyace needs to learn something about forum etiquette, and stop spamming the WFS section with nonsense.

BINGO...We have a winner! (LOL)

I sold a few things years ago and thought I would join to help AZ... Seemed like the right thing to do. I was honest in the description, no estate sale find comments if it came from eBay and priced it cheap. No need to bump they sold quick. If you don't like acedonkey practices then send some RED REP I think that is what it is for.

I sent him this PM:

"Mike

There is a thread on AZ where members are discussing your selling tactics.

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=251380

You might want to be aware that the community you are looking to sell in is reacting negatively to your selling tactics.

Thanks

Kevin"

To my thinking, we as a community should police our own community the best we can and share constructive ideas and suggestion where we can. I think its our responsibility to try to help other members be aware that that need to trade in a manner we all can find respectful. If members don't, I think we should PM them and let them know our feelings. If they can't respond positively to that, I guess they can see how selling things with a red rep bar works for them.

This was a classy move on your part, but I'm not sure it will help based on an earlier response from him. I think the mods will have to step in to solve this problem.

I also like the idea of locking "for sale" threads to not be bumped. They would remain in order of date of the original post.

EDIT: Actually as a user who sometimes sells and might eventually have the money to do more buying, I would like this to be an option I could select - ie. allow the user the flexibility to look at the list of threads in order of the date of the original post or in order of the date of the latest post.

But I would combine this with breaking down the "for sale" section further...

Custom Cues FS
Production Cues FS
Custom Cases FS
Everything Else FS
WTB

Just my two cents.

I'm glad you enjoyed my post and I'm sorry to say Mike didn't quite get what we were suggesting. Oh well.

I have read his post where he is having medical problems and needs to sell items but he is also buying too which has you scratching your head. In this day and age we all have our problems and I do have sympathy to an extent, not sure how he buys and sells all this stuff from a hospital bed though.

So i take it was a similar answer to what he sent me?

Oh well we tried. I don't think he understands how tight this forum is and how often people view it.
Sigh .....

Nice Case!

I'm mostly confused by all this threads. 50 cases here, prices over there. Everything is scattered. Way too many threads going on at a time.

Then a thread saying 'HELP HELP ME', where people go out of their way to help him with information, only for him to sell it using their work. And like Lenny said, I'm totally confused about the whole 'doing all this from a hospital bed' thing. I know the AZ community always goes above and beyond to help out a fellow pool player and this pushes the limits of respect and consideration to the community. My .02 at least.

my thought too.................

I know his health is bad. Hip replacement i believe. Usually he posts needing money for meds. Other day he was trying to sell to raise money for a high dollar cue. That was last straw for me supporting the guys cause.

I certainly didn't have any malicious intent when I posted this thread.. More than anything I was becoming tired of logging on and seeing the same thing over and over.. I think we all use this site as a form of recreation at the very least.. A little courtesy will go a long way in most cases.. Hopefully something good will become of this thread..
