Was looking on eBay and found this book by Robins a special edition. Am I the only one that thinks something is wrong. This is the item #120767165984
Tell me if you notice anything. Sorry for just the number as I don't know how to do a direct link.

eddie robin's books go for big bucks because they're out of print and pool players consider them really valuable finds, especially if you play lots of one pocket. This one also has seven signatures.

The value is in the information in the book, not the leather (or even the signatures though they're a nice touch). The price is close to what the same book has gone for in similar auctions, in fact you'll see it go for even more. If you've been seeking this out and the seller has good feedback, you'd be getting your money's worth.

I don't see a problem, what do you think is wrong?

I own this book, and his other, Winning One Pocket. This is a very fair price. Winning One Pocket is even more.

If your going to buy either book (winning 1P or SMS) make sure they come with the adendums.

I have both and they are complete. My Winning 1P is signed by Grady Mathews and Cecil Tugwell.

That's about the price those books go for. I think the seller in that auction is Eddie Robin, himself.

That book has at least three versions: plain maroon binding, "leatherette" or bonded leather binding, and lizard skin binding. You might find a copy on Ebay for $100, but that's about the lowest you are likely to see. If you want the info, buy the book, read it carefully, and resell the book. They do seem to be maintaining their resale value. If you play serious one pocket, I think you'll come out ahead even if you keep the book. I'll pay you $120 for it if it's still in good condition when you finish with it.

Have you ever taken a picture of a book and there was no sides to it just completely flat. I was not commenting on the price as I have had all of his books plus his 3 cushion and all are worth the price. I can't figure out the picture.

Who said it was a picture of the book? It may be an advertising flat. If it's Eddie Robin, you'll get the book.

This quote is from the listing description. Note the bolded sentence, being scan of the title page explains why the there are no ''sides'' to the book.
This is the rare bonded-leather bound signature-edition Shots, Moves, & Strategies book created by Eddie Robin with the help of six co-authors.

Hard-to-find in any condition, this particular hardcover book is in absolute mint-condition. Screwed up the scanned image of title page and scan looks like negative but the page is actually white with black ink text.

I'll soon be selling my other billiard books, and, YES, I have got another such bonded-leather book and you can buy a second book for whatever this first one goes for or $190, whichever is less, if they can be shipped together to a same USA address. In other words, no extra charge for shipping the second book for it can be packaged together with the first in the same box. There's not handwritten notes, dates, or anything other than the previously mentioned seven author signatures inside front cover. The first inside page has the Robin Publishing embossing mark in both of these books but only this first one (the book up for auction) is hand-signed on front cover by Eddie Robin. Sorry, but I've already sold my Winning One-Pocket books.

Funny thing is, I think all of his books might be a bit overrated, and yet I own all three of his published books and the fact I might need to sell them due to financial issues still breaks my heart.

They are as good or better than anything else out there...that's the bottom line. What else are you going to buy as a one pocket player? Freddie the Beard's material is only thing I can think of that worth comparing to them in book form, and they focus mainly on banks instead of pure one pocket shots.

Interesting, Eddie has the same book offered at the bottom of that listing for $158. And you get $25 off if you buy two. I'm thinking that Eddie is continuing to print this book in limited quantities to keep the price up. Good marketing strategy and a guaranteed income for life!

After you buy this book, check out p. 71 and see if you recognize anyone.

Best pool/billiards related book I ever purchased...despite the ugly guy on page 71.
The New Testament of One Pocket.

Eddie robin books

I can guarantee that Eddie is NOT printing any more of these books.

At one time he was going to come out with newer editions - but never got there.

The seller seems to have already sold dozens of copies of the same book and no one has a problem with it. It seems it is Robins himself selling the book. The picture is probably a scan.

You THINK my auction is somehow a scam and you THINK that something is wrong and Helfert certainly didn’t disappoint for, in his reply, he THINKS I’m continually printing books. So many of you want to understand what is it about pool that it can’t be more like tennis and golf. Well, I THINK it’s because of people like you guys. We have a far less all-around ethics level in pool and so our wonderful game has suffered.

Once again, for those of you that actually pay attention to bad-intentioned rumor mongerers, there has never been a single reprinting of my SMS book. There has never been a single reprinting of my P3C book. And the only reprint of W1P (a very short run) was for less than the total number of books that were stolen from me in Phoenix, AZ and those damaged in flooded storage unit in Las Vegas several years ago. How many times do I have to explain these things?

If I could afford reprintings wouldn’t i have done so for W1P and P3C – those books are in great demand. I could make a ton putting out all three titles and ten more tons putting out my next six titles. A matter of using common sense!

Wish we all had to use real names so people would have to take some responsibility for what they post.

Eddie Robin
