it was an a-b-c tournypocketspeed said:something doesnt seem right here. i meah what was jeannette lee doing playing in a C tourney anyway? maybe she hasnt won anything on tour lately but she is no C player (unless they rate players differently in indy). and what kind of TD lets a touring pro play in a C tourney? and in what kind of calcutta would she only go for $150 since she had to be the clear fav to win? still havent heard JL's side of the story. the op's just relating what his friend said happened. come on JL is the most recognized pool player to the non pool playing public. everytime i have seen her she has been a class act. something is definitely wrong with this picture and from whats been said here i cant put the blame on JL until we get her side.

Isn't it funny? If I were to publish some of the true crap that I know on MOST of the top American players, someone would assasinate me. It's about money, folks. After years of accustoming themselves that it's the player vs. the world and take what you can get before being got, that attitude is instilled in most "true" road players. By road players, this includes pros, and people that make their food money from pool.u12armresl said:Didn't Saint Jeanette get into a game at the DCC in which it was a total steal?
Why is this all so hard to believe. Cause she's a woman? Because she said hi to some of you in an elevator at one time?
The people in the know all live here in Indiana, not just see her at a WPBA event and get an autograph.
u know as well as i do that jack is stuck up her ass and everyone bows down to her like god.....she will continue to play in any tourny that they have...be real!!!satman said:I'm pretty sure if this happened, that Jack and Brian won't let her play in any of their events, til she at least pays the guy. Most of the events, and smaller tours, had a rule that if you forfeit out of the tourney after you lose once, you gotta pay whoever bought you all their money or you're barred for life, {or til you payed up}....
That still sucks for him tho, because he was about to turn a profit.
I've heard of guys waiting in big tourneys til they get close to the calcutta money, then telling the guy who bought them that he HAS TO GIVE THEM HALF, or they will dump the rest of the tourney.
HOSS22 said:i was there>>>>here's what happened, she was there on time dont anyone believe that b.s.she gets all the way out to the finals on the winner side then tries to buy half herself and the guy said no i have all of you and she uncorked and went home!!!she was trying to move on the guy and didnt get away with it so she gets mad and leaves!!! how's that for class from the blackwidow?

Am I wrong, or were they down to the semi's? If so, I'm pretty sure she had an idea of who was there by then.satman said:I almost always buy half of myself too. But on occasion, I don't like the risk to reward part, and tell them no. I believe the original part said she wanted to wait and see how much was in the calcutta. Not taking sides, but still waiting to see who else was there, and has first hand knowledge.
Like a couple people stated the tournament was for A B and C players. I have heard lots of people just say C tournamnet thinking everyone will know what it is. As for the $150 buy in the calcutta, everyone there knows her and she will most likely not get the outrageous celebrity price. There are a few players that go for more than her in the calcutta over there, hell about 4 years ago or so I was at the APA state tournament over there and the first 3 players in the 7's tournament went for a total of $3000 I think.pocketspeed said:something doesnt seem right here. i meah what was jeannette lee doing playing in a C tourney anyway? maybe she hasnt won anything on tour lately but she is no C player (unless they rate players differently in indy). and what kind of TD lets a touring pro play in a C tourney? and in what kind of calcutta would she only go for $150 since she had to be the clear fav to win? still havent heard JL's side of the story. the op's just relating what his friend said happened. come on JL is the most recognized pool player to the non pool playing public. everytime i have seen her she has been a class act. something is definitely wrong with this picture and from whats been said here i cant put the blame on JL until we get her side.

The whole definition of hearsay is a person relating something they "Heard", not something they actually witnessed themselves and Hoss said himself "I was there" so it is thus by frickin definition NOT hearsay. The bloody word itself is it's own definition, you should think for a second before actually using it next time. It happend, she is not the angel you wish she was, get over it and stop trying to attack people who were actually there and know a hell of alot more about the event then you do.
