Jim Buss cues

I've got a sweet tulipwood and ebony one on ebay as we speak. Excellent quality and construction . Nice hit. They don't seem to hold value as well as some of the other makers out there but that just means you can get a killer deal on one that is second hand but like new. :D

I have one in excellent shape for sale. It is even pictured in the Billiard Encyclopedia in the Jim Buss section. Let me know if you are interested I can make you a fair deal on it.

Anyone to share experience on Jim Buss cues? Hit and value?

I would hands down recommend Jim's cues. Jim is a great guy, who has a great deal of experience as a cue maker. One of Jim's cues is in the Smithsonian Institute. Jim reminds me allot of Burton Spain, with his educational level and his brilliant mind.

I Agree...

Jim's workmanship is up there with anyone, he makes a great playing cue with extremely tight tolerances in the finished product. My friend just purchased a Szamboti style cue with cocobolo accents and silver ring work that I have played a few hours with and it is an awesome cue.

I like Jim Buss cues...I played with one for about 2 years. Nice build quality. Jim's a great guy to deal with to boot. I don't think you can go wrong as long as the cue in your weight range.

Buss Cues Play Well

I have owned 3 Jim Buss cues and been very pleased with each. His hit is superb. If you see something you like aesthetically, go for it...I would do business with Jim without hesitation for his cue's performance and his integrity as a cuemaker. Good luck

I can tell you that Jim is one of the premier cue builders out there. If you ask any of the others about his work they will all tell you his quality is a good as anyones! I personally think they hit very good. Not only am I a player, I am also a custom cue builder also. So as another player and builder if you buy a Buss cue your doing good!

I have had a few Jim Buss cues. All of them were very nicely executed in fit and finish. I really liked the balance of the cues. The hit was very solid. Like someone else mentioned, he is still sort of under the radar in the secondary market, so you can get a great cue at a really reasonable price.

I agree with the statements about Jim building a great cue. I unfortunately haven't owned one yet, but I have hit with a couple. I will be fixing that soon since I am working on a design for him to convert my 26 1/2 cue!

You can't go wrong with a Buss cue!
