Joey A's Dinner Donation

I have a question - Was JoeyA not allowed to say AZBilliards on the stream since JR Calvert and InsidePool had their hands wrapped around this?

Joey kept saying - "This is JoeyA from the internet forums". You would thinik that with all the 'advertising' that he did here to get people to watch the stream that he would have at least mentioned AZBilliards a few times and even thanked them. If he did and I missed him stating as such, then my question is answereed. But when I listened it was always from the internet forums.

I wondered the same thing Watchez. That line started sounding just a tad bit corny after hearing it over and over:grin:

BTW, I think it was "Hi, this is JoeyA from the internet pool forums"

Also, since JoeyA has some desire to be a commentator, we should probably give him some constructive criticism to help him be all he can be.

2 things from me......

1. Stop making so many excuses for why pro pool players miss or get out of line. I heard everything from pockets too tight, table too fast, too tired, different cueball, et cetera. Players do this for a living and play on every kind of table imaginable, in every kind of condition. They are geared to adapt and the table is the same for everyone. Pro players miss and get out of line. No need to make excuses for them.

2. masse' is normally pronounced 'mass a" not "moose a"

Anyways, thanks to JoeyA, and all the commentators, for making the live stream more enjoyable. Let's hope Taylor Road compensated him for his time.

Does he possibly use that name on several different forums?

Of course, I'm mostly aware of only AZB myself.

He might but I don't think anyone really posts on InsidePool (even though they have all of these 'people' logged into their forums on an ongoing basis) and I have not seen him on Jimbo's forum. Onepocket.org I don't really visit.

Either way, with all of the promotion he did here - on this site - would it have hurt to give some credit to AZBilliards. Maybe someone was watching the stream and never knew about AZ.

Well, then, he may have some serious explaining to do!

JoeyA from the internet forums - I thought you did a great job! I promise to visit New Orleans and donate some $ in one-pocket to you + buy you some dinner.

After about the third time, I was wondering that myself. I'm guessing that had to be the case. I can't imagine Joey not mentioning AZB during the whole thing, but he sure didn't. Yes Lucy, you have some splaining to do.

Joey A does not need to mention AZB, we all know AZB and Joey A and with AZB there would not have been thousands of viewers on the stream. Without AZB many pool entities would not make it, many cuemakers on here sell here along with casemakers, small billiards businesses and cue dealers, TAR and myself along with many others just would not be able to do what we do without the big jump start from AZB. I do believe those who are benefiting from AZB business wise could spend the $30 or whatever it is on a membership to show support and appreciation. I notice most pool sites are rather dead, I can go to some and my post from 6 months ago might still be on page 1!

Joey does post on multiple forums, local and regional as well as the occasional post on the bigger forums. He also has used "JoeyA" on other forums long before AZB existed. In his shoes I wouldn't have introduced myself as "JoeyA from AZBilliards" either, what he did was more accurate. I don't know if he mentioned AZB occasionally or not, I also don't know if it was by request of the people he was commentating for if he didn't. I did notice Neil Fujiwara, Fuji-Whopper, introduce himself as Fuji-Whopper from AZB so there was some mention of AZB, I just don't know how much.

Joey did have a tough job trying to keep things fresh and entertaining for those that listened to him for days on end. We talked and I know he was concerned about that himself. He was also exhausted from the schedule he was keeping. It isn't that easy to spend the hours sitting in the booth talking that he did. I noticed a few things I'll mention to him but I'm not sure they were good or bad, just things that he may want to consider concerning future broadcasts.

One thing for sure, I don't think I could have done a better job!

Haha, it just recently expired so now I have a smaller avatar and smaller PM box, will get it updated soon, just been busy. Plus I have these big things up top called sponsor banners that change when you go from page to page.

Simply saying - thanks to AZ Billiards for helping to promote this event and bring many of these fans to the stream would have been, at minimum, a good idea.

I assume that he posts on other forums, as I do as well under watchez. But it is always a courtesy to thank the sponsors and those that helped make an event whatever success it was. When you are the mouthpiece of a stream, it is more like a duty. Just My Opinion. From my standpoint, he went out of the way to not mention AZ Billiards. Whether this was intentional or not, we will probably never know. If JR Calvert had anything to do with it, I'll place my bet that it was intentional.

This posts makes absolutely no sense. Everything after your first 7 words contradicts itself. Did you mean to say does need ?

This thread was about throwing Joey A a bone with some meat on it for working hard and being a respected member, perhaps you should exit stage left from this thread that was intended to be a pat on the back and not tripping someone who walks with their head up high.

Most of us have been listening to JoeyA for quite awhile now. The introduction of himself is his standard introduction so I doubt JR Calvert had a thing to do with that. Although I agree that AZB should have been mentioned occasionally, if they conflict with a sponsor I can understand if they weren't. There was a lot of commercials for the sponsors, hard to add many more anyway.

I gotta go with most on this one. JoeyA did a fantastic job in the boots. He was very articulate, had a great delivery and show his knowledge of the game throughout the week. With his help, the stream was a huge success IMHO..

Sure Lenny, I'll exit. Please post the other names in this thread to follow my leave as I don't want to be singled out and stand alone.

Here's a bone: Nice job JoeyA. Thanks for the entertainment. JJ was your best counterpart and should be repeated as often as possible.

I don’t think that AZB was a “sponsor” and so did not get plugged. However, I seem to remember him acknowledging some people as being from AZB on more than one occasion. He did not have any trouble plugging the works of various commentators. So all in all I would guess that he acted in a professional manner.
