IMHO in all fairness to threads that are "Wanted to buy".. Buy means you have cash, and if you are looking to trade please mention it in the posting. I think a lot of people get their chains yanked by this practice....

Same with the for sale threads.. I try and mention no trades if that is the case..

Just a thought....

I agree 100% with you!!

I don't mind the trade offers But Both people need to win. Don't try to
rob Me Because You can't sale your cue for the money you paid for it.

I think sellers need to post "No Trades" in their listing also, instead of giving smart alec answers about roofers not taking cues as payment...

I know I'm a Newb here, but also how about a selling price in the listing description? I am a member of a Watch forum and you must provide a price in the description for the watch your selling. i think this would be good as well instead of the whole "PM for price" stuff. just my 2 cents. not trying to step on anyones toes here.:)

What about the people that ask general question's when they aren't selling anything?

"LH" I SAID "LH"

If a cue is for sale.......... It should have a price. But, to me there is one exception, a very rare cue, that is ultra collectible. On a cue like that, some buyers don't want the whole world knowing what the cues goes for.

If you are looking for something........ Give a general price range, or a general design you're looking for. Also, if you have cash for what you want, or if you need to trade to get into it.

If you want to trade....... Give a general list of what you are looking to trade for.

If you know nothing about the item listed........ Ask questions, but don't make price comments or design comments. Just because you don't like something, doesn't mean the next guy won't. But your comment may hurt the sellers thread.

Start flame wars and hijacks in the main forum. Not in the for sale section. The bumps are great for the seller, but it floods an already overloaded section.

I'd love to see the section broken down into sub forums. Cues/cases/dvd and books/other items. Just a thought.

Hopefully this thread gets back on track. Joe brought up a good point, i'd hate to see it go to the wayside because the thread got hi-jacked

I tried to start a thread about getting separate sections awhile back and admin deleted it because it was in the wrong section..

<----- But what does being a salesman have to do with anything?

Looks like a ton of good advice here....

In the last couple of posts, I really like what they said about posting a price, or if you are looking for a trade, posting up an equivalent value....there is an old saying, "if you have to ask, you can't afford it".....if I see a post that says "open to best offer" or "PM offers", I read that one of two ways....either the item is very expensive and people sending a PM would obviously know it's value......or, if it appears to be a lesser item, that someone is trying to rob me......unless it's elite, if you want to sell something, post a price.....I have no doubt there are many, many other folks like myself that blow off for sale posts they might otherwise be interested in when no price is listed....same for trades....

just my two cents...for free :D
