I understand your opinion, one which you are entitled to.

Keith is not dead. He is a forum member to AzBilliards. To read the words written by some, as evidenced on this thread, is hurtful. Pii has attacked Keith with very rude opinions in the past.

I know Keith is no angel, but he is not addicted to drugs. I have been with him going on 8 years now. I would not surround myself with anyone who had a substance abuse problem.

Hopefully, Keith will be remembered as a pool player who provided entertainment to the crowds. That is the fuel which ignites his engine today. He truly loves to bring joy to the audience when he plays.

I would love to know the identity of some of these haters on this forum and go back in their life and post up their dirty laundry and skeletons. Guess what, we are all humans, and nobody is perfect -- NOBODY.

Keith is a pool player, but he is also a human being, one who still has a little pride left in him.

You can't

walk down the roads of Pool without coming across the bad as well as the good. That video was the first time I had the pleasure to watch Keith play, and yes, he has lots of talent, and knows exactly what to do. He is the type of player I enjoy watching so much, along with Earl.

We all have done things in the past we aren't proud of, but it served to help shape us into who we are today. Like Jenny said, we are all human.

What happens to players like Keith and other players like him really is not a mystery.After we reach a certain age in life our skills diminish and if our only source of income is generated from our ability to play pool then we have a problem,due to the economics of the game.

Success is not judged solely on how much money you have,it is also judged in many other ways,including how many friends you have,what you have accomplished,and how you will be remembered. So consequently we have winners and losers, Keith McReady is clearly a winner.

RunoutalloverU and Pii the person who defended his post are two people that I do not know personally,but I don't think i'm missing a hell of a lot. If we could put a hundred people in a room along with McReady, RunnalloverU,and Pii the room would probably look something like this.RunnoutalloverU and Pii would be talking to one another and Keith and the rest of the crowd would be having a lot of fun on the other side of the room.

JAM ... When I first came on this board your posts were some of the first ones I followed I think it was your Raytown post that caught my attention ... Then Corvette caught my attention with his love for Georgia University Sports ... I recall you two having a spat and him offering you money to leave the forum. I have liked both of you and I am glad that , that bet never materialized and that both of you still grace this forum ... With Corvette I have someone that posts about a sports team I love and some pretty good other stuff with his liberal opinion and reluctance to back down...

In you I have someone here that keeps me informed and speaks her mind and will not back down either, I guess in some ways you two are a little a like ... Both of you give your opinions freely and make valid points and I guess what I am trying to say is everyone is entitled to thier opinion and that is what makes this board what it is ... Some may like Kieth some may not as long as they do not cross that line of decency they should be allowed to voice that opinion and you voice yours ... The poster in this thread got what he deserved for crossing that line though I would expect him to be back under another name at some point . Heck I love my son and he has given me many moments in my life I will cheerish and remember ... I sometimes hear people talking about him and I do not agree with thier opinions but they are entitled to them ... As long as they bare some type of truth and are said in a respectful manner if they are not then they have me to deal with :bash: ... You see the past 18 years led me away from the pool world where as a single father I raised my son and that was my world ... Since last September pool is a large part of my world again. Not until I read this thread did I know he was in the color of money or a very talented pool player... I guess I just stay to busy in my world to look out the window at the rest of the world sometimes ... I have never actually seen him play outside of his acting on the color of money and a brief cameo in the US open a few yesrs ago. These matches are from 1988 and DAMN he has some type of game. My only question is what happens to players like him and Jesse Bowman that have so much natural talent just fade away? These guys hang with and can beat world champs without ever practicing.

i watched that match last night and one other match where keith beats buddy in a hill-hill set,

I remember being in a pool room a few times in Ca with keith there and lots more in Vegas, I have only spoke to him briefly a few times, one time when the sun was comming up in front of a pool room there was about 6 of us standing around after a long night inside.


keith has also mastered the "elbow drop" that is suppost to ruin yor pool game, he proved that theory wrong, but coping keiths stroke is impossible-i tried when i was 18. thanks keith for nothing :p :) I been waiting for years to file that complaint. seriously though Keith is great and I have awalys liked him just the way he came, pure uncut, his own man. I'm much the same way.

And Jam is now my friend too.

Jam , I meant nothing against Keith personally ...My own escapades , past drug and current alcohol use are no secret to those who know me .....Like Jay said , he is an American original , and it is fitting we are talking about him today ...happy 4th to you both .........H.P.
 
I have a big regret that I didn't get to know Keith more when we were both at some of the local tournaments. I was too shy, and as one of the worst players in any given room at any given time, I was too awestruck to say much.

I remember one of the last tournaments he played in, he was playing against Mike Davis who put him in a big trap. Keith just walked up, did a full Masse, made the ball, got perfect position, Mike just shook his hand (no need for him to run the remaining 3 balls!)

Keith has created thousands of these memories for fans and spectators, and he is an American original and legend as Jay has said. I'm looking forward to seeing him return! Remember the last time he returned? He got 3rd place at the US Open!

what are you talking about ? i've done a lot of drugs and i look nothing like keith does now, however you think he looks. i played him in 1977 or 78 . we played 10-12 hrs and he never missed one ball. he's the best i've played . he still plays great ,is grand for pool and a great crowd pleaser. the very best to Keith and his.
