Keith Mcready!!

No it wasn't what the OP was asking. You twisted the wording to your own liking. What he was saying is he wants to see more of them competing.

Pii you and Emily Litella must be one and the same!

Here read it yourself

"My only question is what happens to players like him and Jesse Bowman that have so much natural talent just fade away?"

Now tell me again it wasn't what he asked.

I'm out you guys all have fun with a big groupie hug. ;)

Later.

The question was why they have faded not how good they were or are.
There is no question KM was one , if not, the BEST ever. But I also believe if he had lived another life style he would still be. And again this is what the OP asked.

Quit being a groupie and deal with reality.
I've known Keith a long time and I am familiar with the "other lifestyle", so I can certainly deal with reality. Judging from post #11 from the original poster, I think this thread was heading into an unnecessary direction.

If you call that dealing with reality, maybe you need to take a good long look at yourself. Who the hell are you to knock anyone else's lifestyle? This is the kind of thing that kills places like this. If you want to confront someone, do it in person, face to face, instead of from behind a computer screen far, far away.
Cowardice, in the extreme! What an ass!!

You don't know much. Keith's lifestyle doesn't have a damn thing to do with the state of pool in the United States. The lack of tournament payouts is what is keeping Keith away from pool today.

You, on the other hand, are a prime example of why pool stinks in the U.S.

Take some of those sticks that you seem to enjoy collecting, your only shining light in the pool world, and shove them where the sun don't shine.

Say what you want about Keith MacCready, but whether you like him or not, he IS an American original! Just as much as John MacEnroe, Barry Bonds, John Daly, Allen Iverson, or Deon Saunders. I've known Keith since he was a stringy haired teenager who refused to back down from the best pool players in the world. It's only too bad he didn't have a bigger stage to showcase his talents. If he had, he might have become a superstar too.

Of all the pool players I've seen in my life, Ronnie, Keith and Louie had the most charisma and star power. Everybody wanted to watch these guys play, even if two "champions" were playing on the next table. No question Keith had immense talent (and probably still has) at pool, but he had something else too. Keith had crowd appeal! Pool could use a dozen more just like him. Unfortunately there is no mold for people like Ronnie, Keith and Louie. That's why they are American originals!

Who's close today? Alex, and that's about it.

If the above three guys had led a different "life style" and maybe had different personalities, they wouldn't be the LEGENDS that they are today!

These guys are the Cornbread Reds, Rags Fitzpatricks and Minnesota Fats' of their generation. They will be remembered and written about for a long, long time.

What do you look like? Oh, that's right. You're an Internet troll, a keyboard cowboy who takes pleasure in posting crap on forums to cause trouble. You're a banned man posting, Pal. It's only a matter of time before you cross the line one too many times.

Hey Jam, I agree with you , she had a bad post in my opinion re' Susan
Mello's looks .

Perhaps you need to reread the thread from the start.
I'm not the one that knocked anyone's lifestyle, Duh. (at least not in this thread:grin: )

I also said that singling KM out was not the best.

And BTW you aren't confronting me face to face but from computer screen far, far away so I guess you're a Coward, in the extreme! an ass! AND a hypocrite

Bye I'm off to play pool now.

So there's an idiot in the crowd. Ignore him.

Focus on this great match video. I've seen a few matches of Keith when he was past his prime and showed moments of his unique game, but this match is delightful to watch.

Go Keith. A true legend of the game :-)

Yeah, Keith had a problem with an addiction. When looking at someone's life, it's easy to use the magnifying glass, and examine every little flaw. I believe someone's life is more like a finely crafted quilt - it's the sum of the pieces that you should be judged on. I struggled with alcohol at a younger age. I think of it as one of the bumps in the road during my journey. Keith had issues, but it's not what he or his pool game is about. It's one of the many facets that has contributed to the person we know as Keith McCready. You have to love a man that gets run over by a truck, gets up and says "Holy crap, that was a big truck. Betcha $100 he was driving faster than 55."

I love Keith, flaws and all. Hell, we actually love people more for their flaws than their strengths. My wife snores. When she's not home, the bedroom is too quiet - I can't sleep. Just one man's opinion.

I was sitting here trying to get to sleep and while I was winding down I decided to finally look for Keith online. All I can say is; Man I am impressed all to hell!!

I have never actually seen him play outside of his acting on the color of money and a brief cameo in the US open a few yesrs ago. These matches are from 1988 and DAMN he has some type of game. My only question is what happens to players like him and Jesse Bowman that have so much natural talent just fade away? These guys hang with and can beat world champs without ever practicing.

There are quite a few clips from this site.
I have been viewing some clips from '88' recently too .....one of him and Earl ...and another of him and Buddy ....I saw him play in "82" ...he was one bad MO-FO .........

And this has what to do with Pools image or the OP?
Pool has for a long time been considered "seeding" and this type of behavior does it NO good. It doesn't make one ounce of difference what all those non seeding sports do nor does it have to do with the OP.

and btw its seedy not seeding. Pool is seedy not seeding. Put down the pool stick and pick up a book.

Either way, he's done for a long time.

Seems like everyone hates reality.

If you ask me it the ones that turn a blind eye to that behavior that are the real cowards.

How many threads have you read in your life about "what is wrong with pool" or the image of pool?

Well someone just told you and what happens you pile on them with name calling.

So while you may not want to admit it or simply choose to ingore it, it is in fact true and the reason many have faded.
I am a fan of Keith's , but I will have to agree with Pii here ...Kids should know what drugs can do to them ...

I hope that Keith will get back to being the player he once was , I think a lot of us would love to see that ...

This troll definitely deserved the ban hammer.
