King Cobra

I talked to Glen the day before yesterday. He has no shortage of business. He is finishing up the tables at Oasis Billiards in Chico CA. Still one of the best, if not the best table mechanics in the country.

Glen is talented, but it isn't rocket science. There are lots of great guys to set up a table, or rebuild one.

At 50 years, my tolerance for a$$holes has almost been used up.

For those who are younger, and dumber, feel free to beg for this guy, and kiss his a$$.

Geez

Then you should have enough moxy by now to manage a simple business relationship with Glen to make it win-win instead of a nightmare. I'm 55 and had no problem. I kissed no ass and have a pretty nice table. But of course this thread isn't a reincarnation of the countless other one's hashing out Glen's value as a human. Is it?

Since RKC was banished, threads regarding his value as a human don't just pop-up
like they used to, they have to be manufactured.
It was overdue><

There have been good and bad experiences no question. Glad it worked out for you but he's taken more than a handful of people to the moon and back. Some of that can be contributed to the inability to get real answers to real questions.

With that said the real question that never seems to get answered is whether or not Glen made good on the money he took from the last guy. Rinse and repeat.

It always seems to be the same thing here where Glen acts out in order to get the thread locked or removed...so it'll just go away.

This time it resulted in a banning but many were still left wondering if he ever made good.

At that point with a locked thread the information gets buried and prospective buyers have a helluva time finding out the real risks involved in dealing with him.

Frankly I wouldn't deal with him. He is overpriced prima dona, but whatever.

My comments were intended for those who might think they "have to use" Glen. Which isn't the case, by a longshot.

The same goes for cues, I have bought and sold tons of them, but I have found great cuemakers that are also great folks. There are plenty of cuemakers that I admire their work, but I know they are incredible jerks or ripoff artists.

If you used Glen and were happy, that's great for you. I have never said he wasn't talented. My point AGAIN is there are plenty of folks that are great table guys that you don't have question about character. But there are plenty of instances where Glen acted "inappropriately" at best.

I honestly do not believe that there are plenty of guys who are willing and able to do what Glen did to my table. You had to be there to understand.

Having said that, I knew going in what I was dealing with so I planned accordingly. Made no table crippling moves until he's on site at which time I locked the keys to his truck in my safe. No problems whatsoever. Plus I found his company to be interesting. It was an overall positive experience. Now had I believe him that he was going to be done in 3 days instead of the 10 that he was here I may have been disappointed. But his MO is well known by then and everything went well. He did not overcharge me for what he did either. I also got to see the famous Canadian GC2 rails strapped in his truck and listened to him interact with the guy. I almost advised him to go ahead and do those while he was all set up here but decided not to since it was already December 17th.

Remember folks, don't pay the ferry man until he gets you to the other side.
