Lindenwood Lions Billiards Arena

Mark Wilson was kind enough to show me his Lindenwood Lions Billiards Arena that the college has set up for their team. It has 4 brand new 9 foot Diamond tables, diamond lights, Simonis cloth, Diamond ball polisher and Aramith balls. The perfect set up to play and learn in.

I noticed it was a bit shy on decoration and I offered to donate some prints for the team. Mark had an idea of what he wanted and together over the last few weeks we finally got it done.

Instead of numbering the tables Mark has decided to name them after some of the greatest players in the game. Mosconi, Greenleaf, Crane and Reyes. I made plaques that fit into the ends of the diamond light housings and printed portraits of each of the players to coincide with the tables. Mark wrote up a small unique bio for each of the portraits. Here is the finished product.

Sorry there weren't more pics, my new batteries were almost dead right out of the package.

It really was a pleasure for me to be able to do something for this team, they truly deserve it. I got to spend a few hours last night playing against several of his students and they are a great bunch of young men. Very respectful and driven, the type of people that I enjoy playing.

awesome

That is really cool. And you are right great cause to donate to.

And that right there pool fans is the future of the game we all love. I hope this catches on in other colleges and expands. This is the kind of vision that could breathe new life into the game.

That room commands respect for the game. Well done!

Kudus to Mr. Dryden

Very well done!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you like it but the students and Mark really deserve all the praise. They are working very hard to change the image of pool for the better. If you ever get a chance to meet the team I highly recommend it.

OMG!

I mean OMG!

Wait until Earl hears about this....

Lol, I hope he wont feel left out! I don't speak for Mark but I think he chose the players that he felt had made the biggest impression on him. I'm sure if in the future they expand and get more tables some other great will make the list but for now there was only room for four.

BTW, Mark told me he had the pleasure of meeting and or playing everyone on that list except for Greenleaf of course. Lucky guy.

Mark called me from the training room immediately after the photos and plaques were installed (I am the part-time assistant coach...unskilled...unpaid...overly enthusiastic:)). He was ECSTATIC about the appearance of the room. He wants a very high quality facility that will INSPIRE the players to WANT to do the hard work required. These photos are a huge addition to the program. THANKS CHRIS!!!!

That is one awesome arena. One day I plan on watching my son Devin Skelley play there. He is currently a freshman at Carson High School in Carson City, Nevada. He qualified for the Junior Nationals last year and played in the Colorado Junior State Championship.

coltsfaninnv...That's a great incentive! Tell him to be sure and keep his grades up. Mark requires a very high gpa to be on the Lindenwood team...and that is only one of the qualifications! Best of luck getting Devin into the Lindenwood program in 4 years! By then it may just be THE school to try to get into!
