Live Stream of Borana and OMGWTF this Saturday (MAY 15th)

I watched it all, too. I was rooting for OMG, but she never got into a rhythm. I think she hampered herself by walking around and looking at the shot instead of just getting down on the ball and shooting.
 
Both gals showed a lot of heart and an awful lot of class from the very beginning of the talk of these two matching up. I consider both of them as examples of what's right with pool. :thumbup:

Best of luck to Melinda in her Masters division match this afternoon at 2:30. Hope she set her alarm. :smile: Same to Borana who plays in the Open singles division Monday.

It's funny how much more relaxed Melinda sounded, while Borana arrived late and looked nervous. But Borana had been playing her tournament matches and just came off a win. Maybe that helped.

I think for these two to have an enjoyable future match, they should arrange something that doesn't start so late and isn't played on a super tight table. Commentators suggested that table maybe gave Borana an edge as she's used to playing on procut Diamonds.

Thanks to all the commentators, it's too cool that pros like Thorsten and John Schmidt jumped in, as well as Megan Smith and some women from KOD.

Thanks to the guys who worked hard to put up the stream too. They put up with a lot of grousing but they get the job done and I got to see some top notch 8-ball in addition to the ladies playing 9b. Also some not-so-top notch 1p for big bucks.

All in all a great way to pass a saturday night.

I left when the sun came out and the score was OMGWTF 17 to Borana's 14, so OMGWTF had a game to come back from 4 down. It was back and forth before that 3 ahead by OMGWTF - until the end.

I thought the race was too long with no nine on the breaks allowed - spots up - once each. So if the race was to 16 - OMGWTF wins...but this is slow 9 ball on 4" pockets and no one broke and ran...so slow....more like 8 ball.:smile:

Borana was the better shot maker but her CB control was lacking and OMGWTF hung in there by taking advantage of those rolls and safes.

I wasn't there at the end. but OMGWTF was winning when I left.


Nine ball has changed with funny rules and 4" pockets...but though it is soooo slow... with 5" pockets and run outs (4 pack anyone?) ...It would have been more enjoyable at least to me a tired sweater...:smile:

What you didn't see on the stream:
Barona and Co. arrived at least 30 min. before OMGWTF who went to the pit to practice. The match didn't go down for another 15 min or longer, before Barona entered the pit.

The pockets for the Borana/Melinda match were not 4". Melinda is commentating right now on an SVB 8-ball match, and she said the pockets for her match with Borana were 4 1/2".
 
If CubC was watching last night, I think he will be returning looking to play that game again for more money this time.

If the pockets had been 4" they would still be playing. :-)
 
The match was too long and/or too late, in the end it was more a question of who messed up later than pool skill. Both were extremely over-thinking every single shot. Next time make it an ahead set with both players well rested.

I would say Borana played better in the beginning taking a big lead and Melinda never felt comfortable and didn't bring her real game to the table. Nevertheless, at some point Borana couldn't finish any rack leaving the chance for Melinda's comeback. And the last part was... blah.

Regarding attire, I liked QueenB's jeans better and OMGWTF shoes better. :thumbup:
