Lost to a Girl

Ok, I know it shouldn't matter but I guess I still have some issues about losing a match to a girl. :) :)

She was a 4 but could (should) have been a high 5 or a low 6. This girl could play.

She ran two racks and I got frustrated and scratched on the eight ball once......match over........

I only won three games. I'm a 6 (APA 8 ball)

Should 4's being running multiple racks?

Stop crying!! :) There's nothing wrong with being beaten by a female, and who says that she runs two packs all the time? Shake hands, congratulate the opponent on her play, and be done with it.

BTW: By the way, playing well is how 4's get to be 5's and above.

i dont think a 4 should be able to run 2 racks. you talking about breaking and running right? however, everyone in league has great days and bad days, thats why we are amatures. if she shoots that well consistently she will probably move up soon. also, keep in mind most people shoot up to thier competition. as far as being a girl, theres nothing that differentiates male and female about pool, its about angles not brawn. dont take it to heart.

That's the last straw....turn in your Mancard girlyman :D

Nothing sexier than a good looking chica that can play competetively, she's to be respected....

Yes break and run..........two in a row..... but then she didn't make anything on the next break and I ran out. The next two games there was a lot of hooking going on and I managed to pull them out.

The last game was the same thing, she was laying up with talent and I got frustrated and scratched on the 8.

I'm not mad, shook her hand and bought her a drink. :)

But I did ask her how long she has been sandbagging. :D :D

Without starting the women versus men in pool debate, I'll say that a SL4 should not be running two racks of any kind (rack and run or break and run) when they only have to win 3 games. While it may have been a fluke, that would be a player to watch for a SL adjustment. Like you, I'm an SL6 in 8-ball. I'd be suprised as hell if any SL4 stepped up to knock me off in that fashion.

Suck it up Princess.... Around here there are plenty of women that can run racks.

Get over it.

I have lost to a bunch of girls;

Robin (Bell) Dodson - She has probably beaten me at least 3x.
Sarah Ellerby - this match was worth 5k!
Stephanie (Nakagawa) Boch
Ming Ng

Big deal!

They all play "real good" and deserved the win.

Mammaries or not, an APA 4 shouldn't be running two racks in a row. :P

(I'm also surprised there haven't been more innuendo-filled comments regarding "racks", considering... :/)

Apa 4?

Yes, an APA 4 should not run 2 racks back to back, or even 2 racks in one night. Skill level should be a question, but you lost and that's the game. I say, get her on your team, and go to Vegas. But to me, it sounds like she ran three racks. The two sets and her rack ran all over you.:p
Next time, concentrate on the table, and you might do better.:D
Hey, I don't mind females that can shoot, and if they win, they usually like to run all around the bar jumping up and down to celebrate. Nothing wrong with that in my book.

Michael

BTW, where does she play next week?

I don't know much about the APA ratings but something is fishy if she as a 4 needed to win 3 games and you as a 5 or 6 needed to win 4 games and she ran 2 racks in a row. I might have an issue with that myself if it was a male or a female. Johnnyt

Yea, that's a "real" close comparison.:D :D I wouldn't mind losing to them myself.

But wait, you were just dropping names, were're you. Sorry :) :)

Can an APA 4 run two racks? Definitely.
If the balls spread right, and make for a relatively non-difficult run out, then sure. Or, if it's a better player, that previously hasn't shown their skills enough to be rated higher (ie bad days, or bad breaks).

Should an APA 4 be able to do it consistently? Definitely not.

So in order to judge, would definitely need more info. Is she running out racks on a regular basis? Is she also winning alot? If not, how does she play then? Does she truly have some flaws in her game? Sounds like she at least had some defensive smarts, but it's hard to say, since you may have let her off the hook too soon (knocking in the 8) to be able to see how well she plays the defensive game all the way to the finish of the game.

Last, but not least, how many matches has she played? She could be a strong player, who hasn't played enough to be rated accurately yet.

OK, one more, maybe she's already on the borderline of going up anyway. Check back in on her in about 2 weeks or so, and see if she is rated higher.

Nice thing with that system is, if she's playing that strong, then it won't take long for the rating to adjust accordingly.

Since you lost to a girl, please follow directions below:

1. No longer use "Mr." and correct anyone that does when referring to you.
2. Quit drinking coffee for tea and hold your pinky out when you do.
3. In disagreement, say, "Whatever" and roll your eyes.
4. Get more minutes on your cellphone plan.

OH, and get used to it because if you haven't been beaten by a woman yet it's because you obviously haven't been playing that long!
