Mike Janis / Motorcycle Accident

I have done the 75 mph road kiss myself, it isn't fun. I was wearing T-shirt and shorts. I had the elastic band to shorts and some T-shirt left when I came to a complete stop. Sold my bike a few days later.

Get well soon. I know the pain you are in.

Get well...

Hope Mike gets well soon ... A 75 mph bike accident has to be scary ... Unfortunatly I imagine with these gas prices we will be hearing about more of them... It is hard to sell your bike these days... I'm thinking about buying a bike myself ... I wonder if we have a local Shwinn dealership???

Hope you feel better soon! Welcome to the "those that have been down" club. It sucks being a member. Chris

Get well!

Hello everyone, this is Terrie Janis, Mike/Mj's Wife.

Mike had a motorcycle accident this week and has not been able to post on the forum. He will be fine and should recover quickly. The front wheel bearings/hub? locked up on the highway when he was going 75MPH so he and the Harley both suffered some damages.

If you have any questions or need to talk with Mike just call him on his cell phone at 1-800-200-7665. It is unlikely that he will be able to type for a few days or weeks but if there is anything urgent he asks that you just call him.

Mike-- I'm glad to hear you're going to be okay. I hope a quick recovery for you.

Terrie-- You must have been so worried. My wife certainly was when I went down on my bike about 2 years ago. I made out with just a chest contusion (bruise).

I still ride by the way. Life's too short to miss out on the wind blowing across your face in the open road. :)

Keep us posted on the recovery.

Regards,
Abe

Glad he's alive, he went down a few years ago on his last bike, maybe its time...................no mas.

Terry,

Let Mike know that we all wish him well and a fast recovery. And to thank his guardian angel/ God/ lucky star/ nine lives/ or the devil he sold his soul to that he survived the accident!!! I know he loved his Harley, but he is more valuable to us than that beast of metal will ever be:)

Thanks, Terry for the news.

Thanks for the heads-up on Mike.

Tell Mike to heal fast and ask what is he selling the Harley for? ;)

Mike said thank you to everyone for the nice wishes and Jerry, is not getting out of his whoopin that easy. Mike wants you to know that the accident started when he was going 75 but he was going much slower when he wrecked.

Mike is not in the hospital but he is pretty bumped up and sore. He will be okay just needs to rest and stay on his pain pills for a few days. I am sure he will be laying around for a few more days. He was very lucky.

For those worried about the bike, the bike shop called today it's only around $1600 in damages and it is being repaired this week. It is not for sale.

P.S. Mike and Mr. Griffin have talked on the phone and they are trying to find a way to work together on the pro systems.

Thanks for this info Terrie, I wrote to Mark G. in hopes they would be working together in some way. Also, Mike you now have two families to take care of, first your own, (get off the bike) and second the tour/players you have worked so hard for and finally gotten, (get off the bike) you have many people now depending on you..get off the bike, there's too much at stake. And NO I don't want your bike.:) :)
