Mike Sigel Pool Clinic in NJ on Sunday Oct. 16th

I agree

Wow. Really poor form by Captain Sunscreen.

I've attended a Sigel clinic. Did it change my life? No. Was it worthwhile? Absolutely.

I agree with you Mitch.

NO one-time lesson will reinvent a person's game BUT EVERY piece of WORLD CHAMPION coaching adds value far beyond $75.00 and CAN be retained forever.

Not YOU Scott...

So, with 20 students, and one teacher, that works out to about 5 minutes of one-on-one for each person...hmmmm.

I am disappointed in your comment my friend. I don't bash other pool rooms dedicated to making a contribution the sport and I'd prefer NOT to see one instuctor do that to another. We all need to work TOGETHER to create fresh blood and uplift the sport with POSITIVITY reinforcing one another.

Thank you my friend. I still support The Traveling College of Billiard Knowledge. Continue teaching and doing YOUR part to uplift the sport.

MitchDAZB...Glad you enjoyed it. I never said it wouldn't be worthwhile. I said 5 minutes of one-on-one is very short...and it is. IMO there should be more teachers for this size group. I wish Mike good luck with this effort.

Eddie...You do great things for pool, with your room, and with your passion for the sport. Keep doing what you do!

I've taken three 1-hour lessons from Mike in Frederick over the past 12 months. The topics included: 14.1 strategy/pattern play, ball pocketing/banks and speed control.

My first lesson, the 14.1 session, I never touched a cue. I just stood beside him while he shot one shot at a time, stopped, asked me what I thought while he either confirmed or corrected, and then made the shot, stopped (repeated, giving me a 1-ball-at-a-time lesson during a 180 ball run), etc.

Mike is very knowledgeable and I think he's a great teacher. I'm still incorporating some of his information into my game, and it's been a few months since my last lesson. I sometimes read stories on here about how Mike is a bad teacher and how he only talks about himself. For me, that couldn't be farther from the truth. I learned a LOT.

My biggest gem: how to never get "brain-locked" in 14.1 :)

The instructors on this forum feel they gotta hit below the belt, every shot they get. Ed, you are always grinding and making things happen. Hats off friend.

You can learn a lot about this game without touching a cue. Everyone focuses on pocketing balls, but if you play the right patterns and give yourself easy shots the game gets a lot easier. Picking the brain of one of the best to ever hold a cue is priceless.

Pocket Point...You're the real nit here. Nobody here even believes that you play pool...let alone know anything about it. I didn't insult Mike. I merely pointed out that one-on-one time, with anybody (world champions included) should be more than 5 minutes. Dave confirmed that, mentioning his lessons with Mike. Nowhere did I say Mike can't teach, nor that the Sandcastle clinic would not be worthwhile. BTW, Neils Fiejen was a champion player long before he met Bert...just as Allison Fisher and Karen Corr were world champions before they came to pool school. All are better as a result of their experiences with professional instructors. You, on the other hand, have nothing constructive to say EVER. No doubt you will get yourself banned again soon.

LOL, if you go so far as to question something that Scott Lee says, you get banned.

But if he insults other people and other instructors, he is praised as the Jesus of pool.

Funny, I don't see any of the pros giving Scott credit for their success.

Hatch (Diliberto)
Feijen (Kinister)

I'll stop now before I get myself in too much trouble.

I repeat: wow.

I guess I need to be the bearer of bad news, S(cott)PF, but you and Mike Sigel are not selling the same product! If you think a dollar spent on the Sigel clinic is a dollar that could go to Team Sunscreen, you're woefully mistaken.

In the time it takes Mike to run a couple racks of straight pool, he'll share more than enough knowledge to make the whole day a bargain.

You've gone well out of your way to knock this event and thereby the host venue. Maybe I'll start my own thread sometime to knock some of your action.

Unfortunately, if past is prologue, you'll keep on posting in this thread, but I guess a guy can dream.

Hey Ed,
I just wanted to thank you for your hospitality and words of wisdom, it was a real pleasure meeting you Thursday night. It's been a really long time since I've stepped into a real poolroom, a humbling experience but a good one none the less. GREAT room! Thank you for letting me hit a little on table #1, that was really nice. I wish I was going to be up there this coming weekend, I would definitely sign up for Mike's clinic, he is a true living legend. Best of luck!!!

I don't think "All" the instructors are as you suggest.

Sigel is the best.

If I was young aspiring player, or a player looking to learn, go for it. If I was in the area I would be there, not because Mike's my friend but because any one can learn from him. Mike is very articulate and he has excellent communication skills, that coupled with his knowledge makes this an opportunity one can't afford to miss.

Yeah, Scott likes to knock fellow professionals like he is doing us a favor .

The Countdown has Begun!

Time and seats are limited... 15 students is now the cut-off!

All payments must be in by Thursday to reserve your seat.

Don't miss out on this great opportunity to elevate your game!!!

I was told just yesterday by one of my regulars that Jim Rempe was offering him lessons at $200 an hour! I think 4 hours for $75 is a GREAT deal.

If you live or will be in NJ next Sunday, get in while you can.

It's a NO-BRAINER!
