Didn't take much time to put that list together Jay. Maybe you could have thrown in a couple of unknowns, I'm sure you have a couple.

shanelle lorraine. number 1 player in guam.

I don't think they have that many good women players in Guam. I think she's all show and no go. IMO Johnnyt

Pro
GYK is capabale of hitting a high gear that most female pros have never seen before.

Semi-pro
I only know about here in Florida. There are several up and coming players - most notably Jeannie Seaver and Michelle Monk. Jeannie is falling back in love with the game after a long break - Keep an eye on her - she's got a heart as big as all outdoors. I lost to Michelle Monk in the loser's bracket of a regional tour event last year. She plays the game very well and she has that warrior mentality.

Amateur
About a year ago, I saw a young lady at a Ladies Spirit Tour event named Elizabeth Zingale. She has mad potential! I believe she lives in Tallahassee. Haven't seen or heard from her since, I hope she stays with it and improves and gains some experience. I really believe that some day she could be a major threat.

Current and past
We always hear about Jean Balukas and Loree Jon, but there was another player in that era named Robin Bell (Dodson). IMO, she was the most consistent player on the WPBA prior to the Corr/Fisher era. Of course she is in the HOF, but she doesn't get a lot of credit for her skill and creativity as a player. Awesome shotmaker, flawless safety play, and a class act all the way. There is this false belief that the WPBA was "easy pickins" back then, and nothing could be farther from the truth. Ask anybody, no matter who Robin played, they were in for the battle of their life.

past and present

Well since you asked for amateurs past and present I have remember Becky. She played very near shortstop speed and was built like the proverbial brick outhouse. Between her real skills and the vast distractions she presented for any male that was flesh and blood it was pure slaughter on a barbox. Just thinking about her makes me regret the days of my misspent youth. Regret that they are over and done with that is!

I played Becky many times and I have played a pro female player a few times also. No question that even without the distractions Becky was by far the tougher player. No tour for talented women to play pool then though. She could have been huge in the WPBA had it been twenty or thirty years later.

Michelle Monk iz 1 of the best league players in south FLA. She also won the APA amateur event. She isn`t as good as the WPBA girls yet, thogh.

U R a slight underdog playing her, Blackjack. It's no shame losing 2 her.

As far as semi-pro women go, I'm keeping an eye on Michelle Rakin. She impressed me during the San Diego stop of the WPBA.

Amatuers - I saw a young gal from Spain playing the BCA Masters in Vegas. I didn't get her name but she played real strong, scary really. I think she could break out if she ironed out some slight flaws in her stroke. Anyone know who she is?

jasmin has one of the best strokes on the planet - it's like a cross between earl's and buddy's. and i don't make those comparison's lightly.

who knows what she'll go on to achieve - but she definitely has the ability.
