in an absolutely horrible stroke of bad luck, Mike comes to the table after Albin breaks dry. Mike plays a federal penitentiary safety locking albin under the three ball and the one glances the 7 as it headed up table slicing it into the side. Now Mike id in the jail cell.
 
Game set and match...We get rocked in Singles play every year...why is this year going to be different?
 
Now Albin dogs the 8 -- would have had a tough shot on the 9 and doesn't leave Mike an open pocket.
 
See Albin dogs it, now Dechaine can take control and win the rack...that's what it means when I say Dechaine can't win unless Albin dogs it ala Cornerman

So he couldn't have rolled up on the 9 ball and put the 8 down table? Instead he goes full Corey and tries to slide one home that don't go. Goodnight Irene from there with shorty
 
ah thats a heart breaker, mike wanted that W real bad you could tell. the break wasnt working for him, he really didnt make that many mistakes. just couldnt keep control of the table...

No worries. I'm not watching, but the commentary seems clear: Dechaine is out-shooting and out-playing Albin, but again that doesn't seem to make for a winning set.
 
Tough loss for Mike. I though he played fine just had a unproductive break. Albin seemed to get more than his fair share of the rolls.
 
Mikey I've about had enough of your negativity. If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.
 
I would have loved Mike to roll up on that 9b, as well, with any question that the 8b could go. Obviously he figured it could go and played 2 way.

With Albin, apparently leaving a jump shot is only 1.5 way.

The kid can jump!

Match to Albin, overall MC is now 4-3 Europe

I am all for Team USA but like I said on page 6, Mike can not get there an never will! This will be his last Mosconi. Once a dog, always a dog.
 
I think when Boyes comes into the arena they should play Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me

This will be a real tough match for the USA to win -- Corey's decision making needs to improve.
 
Why do people keep saying "he missed but had great position on the next ball"....if he would have made the ball the cueball would have ended up somewhere else and would NOT have great position on the next ball. I know it's a pet peeve of mine, but sorry it doesn't work like that.

The truth hurts. That match was never going to go his way unless Albin dogged it to him I don't care what the announcers said. Dechaine wasn't bad at the table, just not particular good either, and clearly not good enough to win that set.

It's all rolls though....5 years running but all rolls. Europe can bake biscuits for the whole damn world with that many "rolls"

Not sure what match you were watching. Mike was running out when given the chance and not with easy tables either. Albin's break was just working much better.
