Mosconi Cup on the Net or T.V.

I have Brighthouse cable and get fox2 for $10 @ month. :p. Johnnyt

You lucky duck. We can't get it on Comcast. That is good news, though, for those who have Brighthouse cable. There may be other cable providers who to have Fox2 that I am not aware of. I just know Comcast doesn't have it, which is a bummer for me. :(

I can only hope they get it on ESPN-3 at the last minute, like last year.

I hope everyone gets to see it some how. I told my wife I was going to get Fox2 for just a month and she said she would pay for it every month. She said, "I can't believe what a cheap bas**** you are with some things. I've seen you put a $100 bill on the bar to buy the whole bar and tell the bartender to let you know when that 100 was gone and you'd put up another". He, he...it always works. Johnnyt

Does anybody know anything about Chromecast ---> HERE

If I am reading this correctly, I can plug this little USB Chromecast in my TV, and I will be able to pick up things on my computer and watch it on my big TV screen. Sounds too good to be true. If it works, what a good find!

Can't beat the price: $35.

Actually, all you need is 2 cables (video & audio) to get it on your tv. Depending on your laptop and TV, that dictates what cables you need. You could take your laptop to Best Buy or Radio Shack if you're unsure. Bring your tv model # written down. It'll run you somewhere from $30 - $75 depending on quality of cables. I dropped $40 and it looks/sounds great.

Then load the feed on your laptop, click and hold "Fn" and then the F button with crt/lcd written on it. F buttons may very, but once you know, it's truly a walk in the park. Watching on a nice flat screen vs a computer is such a difference!

Then you can stream Hulu or whatever and drop cable, lol.

Hope that helps.

Best Buy? Are you rich and hate your money?

Only place to buy cables....6 ft HDMI for (trumpets) $3.54....http://www.monoprice.com/Category?c_id=102&cp_id=10240

Looks like something similar to the Roku. Looks like the apps are somewhat limited. If you use Netflix etc. it may be a quick solution but the Roku has many more choices. I found some streams on the Roku but doubt either one would have Mosconi cup.

I have a Home Theater PC with XBMC (Xbox Media Center) installed. There are plugins for it that broadcast live channels from abroad. Sportsdevil collects streams from all over the net and has a good chance. XBMC may also be downloaded on some tablets.

I'll wait for some reply's on this. Might be the right thing for a dummy like me.

Chromecast works great, easy to set up and allows you to stream your pc to your tv. It's great.

There are several threads about this very topic. I think the general consensus is that, yes, we will be able to watch the Mosconi Cup on our computers via ESPN-3, much like last year. I watched ESPN-3 on my computer via my Comcast connection last year. The ESPN-3 was not on my TV, though. It only came through on my computer. I'm not quite sure how or why that is. :o

If you have one of those super-duper television tuners, you can watch it on TV via your computer. :happydance::happydance::happydance:

Nice!!!

AppleTV and ESPN3 make for a very happy week!!!!

Freddie <~~~ if only I were home to watch...

I just checked. Fox Sports 2 is on Dish Network channel 397, in the Americas Top 120 Plus package. (It's on my showroom account at work, yay!)

It's on Time Warner cable in the Sports Pass package, which I don't subscribe to at home, sigh. (DVR on the showroom at work, tho, heh heh.)

For DirecTV customers, its on channel 618 in the Xtra package.

Now, to temper this somewhat.... I just checked the program guide on Dish for Monday, on the Dish itself, and I don't see The Cup listed. Online, I can't find it listed either.

Perhaps its only on Fox in Europe? Maybe it got added to the schedule late, and the program guides haven't been updated? (He said in a hopeful fashion)

Now that I've read the other threads, I see that Fox Sports 2 isn't airing it till Tuesday.

I checked the Dish program guide, and the internet schedule, and there it is.

2 hours, probably an edited recap.

On tv, at least!

only certain things....check it out before purchasing.

"Cole was disappointed, however, that he couldn’t stream directly from his phone or computer everything on his screen, effectively using Chromecast as a second screen enabler. Cole’s not the only one who wants that capability, which I’m sure will come in time, though for the moment Google seems to have forbidden it."

One other thing that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is that Amazon sells something called Mini PC. Essentially it's an android device that doesnt have a screen that plugs into your tv turning it into a defacto smart phone. You can download apps from the google play store etc.

Thanks for the info, Rick. I'm glad you chimed in.

My brother is in Glendale right now, and he's got 2 more weeks before he moves back to California. His cable connectivity was cut off last night, so he has no connection. I was going to have him get this Chromecast so he could download movies, but now I think I may not refer him to it.

I'm going to Verizon website and see if I can find him something where he can have connectivity on his laptop, like a plug-in device. Hopefully, he can purchase it for one month only and not have a contract. He already has his Verizon cell phone, but it would be nice for him to have connectivity for the next month.

At the apartments he is at, they do have in the main office a WiFi area, but they are only open certain hours. And then, of course, there's Starbucks, but he says that's 5 miles away down the highway from Glendale, the closest one.

Poor guy, just lost his soul mate and now he has to move. He's in a bad way.

So after reading the other thread, apparently there's no free live streaming. :(

Not yet. But last year, it was the same thing. We didn't get word of ESPN-3 until the last minute.

I must say that I am disappointed that someone from the American pool media did not have any spare time to attempt to contact mainstream media for this most prestigious event in pool. Maybe they have, and I am not aware of it, but if I was in the media, I'd be contacting eveyrone I know about it, to get it aired.

Here it is on American soil, and we can't watch it? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

Like everybody else in the pool world, it's every man for themself, I guess. What else is new?

Fox Sports 2 has it, but you have to have Direct TV or one of the other cable providers to get it. Comcast, which is what I have, doesn't have Fox Sporst 2.

I have written to LiveSport.TV to see if we can get it from them online, just in case we can. I am still waiting for a reply.

Its a disgrace that you guys can't watch this via normal means

can't believe your normal sport channels will not cover it

lets face it the programmers must be looking for content all the time

We need to organise a petition !!!!!!!!

like complaints to supermarkets i suspect a certain number will induce a trigger point

I thought there's a life stream for the world to see kind. Because if its all on American channel only, people living in asia can't watch it unless they pay. Ohh well.

If you can get SkySports-3, you can watch it for free, I guess, but here in America, we can't.

There is a Livestream.TV that offers it, but not if you live in United States. MatchroomSports.com has the link.

Best of luck to you. I hope you get it. :)
