Mosconi Cup Updates

Dechaine def belongs in, SVB gotta figure out how to get it going faster but he should also be there.

Archer, Morris, and Putnam have been very dismal at best. Earl should easily be on the team along with Hatch. If USA wants to win they gotts have those 4 for sure.

Of course my vote for #5 is Charlie Williams or a healthy Jeremy Jones. It takes those types to win these kind of events IMO.

That happens Im shipping it on Team USA

I'll take Archer and Morris any day! They are just both not playing well at the worst possible time. It won't always be that way!

Archer, Morris, SVB, Deuel, Hatch and Varner coaching! Strickland would replace Hatch if his mind and attitude were right!

The only pick I would do different than yours is replace Morris with Earl.
Putnam played little league as far as I could see. There is no way on earth
he should be ranking Earl with a performance such as his.

Definitely Duel and Hatch next year. Both of them have proven that they can handle the pressure. I would take Hatch over Morris but thats just personal preference for me.
I am disheartened with JA for other reasons but in no way would discount his playing just because I don't agree with
some of the things he has pulled off this year.

CW and G Bush now have at least one thing in common.

I really can't believe some of the rolls team Europe got... though I do recognize their players are fantastic and have performed as the champions they are.

As others have mentioned, I can't stop thinking how Earl (and Hatch) would perform against these guys. Jim Wych said that Earl wasn't far from being picked, but that he is past his prime and essentially can't compete. I don't know about that..

I heard him say that too. But considering Kaputnams performance,
I doubt that Earl could have played worse.

I think that Dechaine has played quite nicely and will get better and better over time. If I were picking the team, I'd start Team USA with Shane and Mike, our two twenty-somethings who are the future of American pool. Archer seems to handle the pressure better than the others but I think he'd do better if the shot clock were not in use. That said, one of the things I like best about Matchroom events is that the shot clock is always in use.

Still, participation is based on points earned in pre-specified events, and ultimately, I want my team to consist of those who've earned their way there.

You guys need to get over Earl, I will bet 10K that he won't be on the team in the next three years. I would make it longer but I want to get paid in a reasonable amount of time.

Earl will never be on the Mosconi team again and that is just how it should be, he isn't good for pool and now enough people have realized that that he won't be chosen for any invitational events.

I would definitely pick Hatch over Putnam and possibly Corey over Dechaine if he is playing at all.

$500 Big V Cash bucks against the Bobber and sniper rifle. I'm married so you can keep the blonde rider.
I'd bet my Harley but just paid it off and would like to ride it for the next couple of years.

Need a huge favour, did anyone record Day 3 tonight? I would pay you for a copy. Please Pm me.

Thanks. :)

Take out Earl there and put in Alex and we got a team !

Yeah, Alex is, I believe, Canadian as well as Fillipino. We've commented before on the matter of permitting Candaians to play on the American Team if they qualify on merit.

If I remember, last year Hatch was the goat. Dogged shape on a critical 8? ball? Now he's suddenly the missing link.

Dechaine can shoot lights out. If memory serves, he ran 8 and out at the BCA this year against Archer.

Is it possible that Europe is just better than us? More disciplined, more focused, more talented? And, not to bring up a sore subject, but also better coached?

Souquet, Feijen, Appleton...those are three guys nobody would want to draw. And Melling is an up-and-coming monster who's playing for an (arguably) stronger side.

Anybody who's ever played team pool should know that having really strong teammates makes you a better player, because you know they can carry you and you give less of a sh&t and play looser. Also, the momentum was going in the other direction for the USA from the start, so they were playing catch-up, which usually means tenser and more nervous.

So what's the latest updates? I've been working and fighting with livesport.tv
because I paid for this several days ago and I have not been able to access
the matches. Just now I tried it, and it finally says "purchased", they should
still refund my money for being as slow as molasses in January...

Not to shark you in midstroke but Michaela has birthday...
