Aren't you the wannabe backer that ended up being nothing but a tool by the time the BCAPL ended in Vegas? You were running around the casino with your phone glued in the open position to your hand, hat turned sideways, flashing your bankroll every chance you got, swore you would back a game in FL, let TAR spend the money on tickets to FL to cover the match and then you backed out and now owe them money? I'd talk to Shane or Chris before throwing them in a ring that they may not want to be in. They are great players... but I'm sure they're not exactly looking to play Hatch! Dennis has beaten all the top players.. thats right... ALL OF THEM!

And bignasty said it best in the nycgrind.com video -- you can tell how good a player is by shortness of the waiting list to play him. In Dennis' case, that list is EMPTY!

finally a hatch naysayer. i thought i might be the only one who didnt and wont vote for hatch. seems to dominate the joss tour, but has never won turningstone. hmm wonder why? also rarely seen a player who *****es and whines more during a match.

Maybe and hopefully this is a turning point to his style of many years. He ain't gettin' any younger, but I too want to see it to believe it...he's kinda like an Earl the Pearl in some ways....DH plays 9-ball the way its supposed to be played, fast and loose, Ronnie Allen played this fast in his prime.

i agree with the fast and loose style of play, like earl in the wrong ways w/o the talent level. speaking as a spectator i would rather see rodney play. and i think rodney gives the USA a better change. i am really not sure what this whole hatch train is all about. maybe we just like to root for the underdog?

Or maybe (and quite possibly) most people are seeing the fact that Hatch is currently the best player on that list, and we'd like to see America win the Mosconi cup? That would be my guess.

And if its been years since you've seen Hatch play in person, he's definitely mellowed out great bit from his youth years of playing pool. So the 'complaining' (as I will call it) and the attitude have greatly changed, while the skills have been fine tuned.

How is it a "fact that Hatch is currently the best player on that list"?

That list has US Open winners on it and guys that pay their dues on the tournament trail and play just as good as Hatch. If Hatch was the "best" player on that list then he would be on the tournament trail beating all of them and making a lot money doing it. What does Hatch do outside of regional events like Joss, Turning Stone, and Valley Forge?

I am not knocking Dennis, he is a great player but he is not the best player. I'm knocking the people that think he is the best and trying to figure out where that "logic" is coming from.

You're not alone. Sometimes things are a little easier if you pick your battles and this really isn't one I was going to choose but I guess I just opened the can of worms. Not agreeing that Hatch is the best will bring on an onslaught of "how dare you" and "no one will play him" posts. I've noticed the bulk of these posts coming from people in the NYC region. They're outspoken and tend to say whats on their mind more so and more easily than others. Nothing wrong with it, its just how some folks can tend to be and is probably why they're more vocal about Dennis than others are about other players? Just a guess. Either way, I'm glad this is coming to an end.
 
UrackmIcrackm: You are knocking me!!! I've won tournaments all over the country I gamble with anyone and just because I don't play in every event doesn't mean I haven't payed my dues!!! I've payed my dues for over thirty years playing this game I played in almost every major tournament for 15 years!!! I can't afford to play in every event like some of the other guys!!! They have big sponsors I don't!!!! Come on!!!!!! Let's be realistic. I do the best I can.
