Aren't you the wannabe backer that ended up being nothing but a tool by the time the BCAPL ended in Vegas? And bignasty said it best in the nycgrind.com video -- you can tell how good a player is by shortness of the waiting list to play him. In Dennis' case, that list is EMPTY!

Maybe and hopefully this is a turning point to his style of many years. He ain't gettin' any younger, but I too want to see it to believe it...he's kinda like an Earl the Pearl in some ways....DH plays 9-ball the way its supposed to be played, fast and loose, Ronnie Allen played this fast in his prime.

And if its been years since you've seen Hatch play in person, he's definitely mellowed out great bit from his youth years of playing pool. So the 'complaining' (as I will call it) and the attitude have greatly changed, while the skills have been fine tuned.

That list has US Open winners on it and guys that pay their dues on the tournament trail and play just as good as Hatch. If Hatch was the "best" player on that list then he would be on the tournament trail beating all of them and making a lot money doing it. What does Hatch do outside of regional events like Joss, Turning Stone, and Valley Forge?

I am not knocking Dennis, he is a great player but he is not the best player. I'm knocking the people that think he is the best and trying to figure out where that "logic" is coming from.

You're not alone. Sometimes things are a little easier if you pick your battles and this really isn't one I was going to choose but I guess I just opened the can of worms. Not agreeing that Hatch is the best will bring on an onslaught of "how dare you" and "no one will play him" posts. I've noticed the bulk of these posts coming from people in the NYC region. They're outspoken and tend to say whats on their mind more so and more easily than others. Nothing wrong with it, its just how some folks can tend to be and is probably why they're more vocal about Dennis than others are about other players? Just a guess. Either way, I'm glad this is coming to an end.

UrackmIcrackm: You are knocking me!!! I've won tournaments all over the country I gamble with anyone and just because I don't play in every event doesn't mean I haven't payed my dues!!! I've payed my dues for over thirty years playing this game I played in almost every major tournament for 15 years!!! I can't afford to play in every event like some of the other guys!!! They have big sponsors I don't!!!! Come on!!!!!! Let's be realistic. I do the best I can.
