Mr. Big Time

A money game started at Sharks in Vegas about 11:30 PM Friday night. It ran to about noon Saturday. A large money player known at AZB won. I'm not going to name him. If someone else wants to know about his match they can find out from him.

The game started up again later at some point and the aforementioned player pulled up a slight loser at two sets behind on Sunday, a little before noon I think it was. So, he leaves and the winner that session (he had a backer well known outside pool who had already left) pays the time and gives the houseman a freakin' $8 tip. Putting that in perspective- they were playing for at least $3,000 a set. This is the same guy who the day before was proclaiming loudly that he didn't want anyone playing on the tables next to theirs and the houseman was diplomatically taking care of that for him.

The dipshit even starts to walk out without bringing the balls in and when the houseman asks if he's going to get them he says, "Can't you take care of that?" A verbal back and forth ensued and they both started picking them up until the houseman just told him to leave the balls and split.

Suggestion to the houseman: if in the future Big Time wants extra space then he pays for the surrounding tables and sorts out the costs with his opponent.

If I owned the place he'd be 86'ed.

Do you know how to keep an as... I'll tell you tomor...

Why even post this if your not going to say who it was.

The subject isn't "who it was". The subject is "dipshits in pool". Hopefully those who do know him will let him know they have the same opinion. For instance, the guy he matched up with because it reflects somewhat on him, too.

The Houseman got a lousy 8 buck tip for catering to their table for 2 days.
I'm sure he will remember who greases his pocket the next time Mr. Beeg Time player and Backer flounce in.
Picking up the balls and keeping your area clean is just a matter of respect
for the workers and owners.

Would be nice to know who they are tho.

Yes , we can add them to the bad customer nit list also known as the BCNL.

Post it in the room owner and action forum. I'll take a picture too for my facebook page.

I know a guy who doesn't believe in tipping. I will never go out to eat with him again!

Good chance the backer is not aware.

there are quite a few like that in the pool world unfortunately, but hardly all. i feel it a damned shame that there are rarely any good stories about the players.
I don't blame anyone for not posting the name, that is personal choice IMO.
I think I have had about enough

I agree, its not the ops responsibility to out the culprit. Maybe he will read this and act differently next time around. Its probably someone who is a braggart and likes to play the roll on AZ, so for that, it would be fun to know who it is. Maybe it would take him down a few notches in everyone's eyes.

8 bucks is a serious insult and doesn't get you a Happy Meal at Rotten Ronnies. I'd be F/N steamed. Next time around, I hope the Houseman charges table time for the 2 tables on either side.

I'm thinking I didn't convey the sarcasm well enough in my post.

Yeah, there are a LOT of good people that play pool. I would like to hear some of their stories. Don't think we will unless we post em. Then no one reads em.

These type of threads tilt the shit out of me.

Whats the point? Some guy didnt tip. Who gives a shit? Maybe he didnt like the houseman, maybe he doesnt tip, maybe he didnt have any cash, maybe he's European.

If the houseman keeps a joint open late or does something special then I agree he should get some jelly but just because two guys pick a certain room to play in doesn't mean the guy working automatically gets a cut just because the match happened to go off there.

If you are not going to name names (including your own so everyone knows who is saying what) its pretty retarded to post stuff like this.

Its also a good way to run guys out of a pool room.

I just don't understand why everyone feels they should be paid extra for really doing next to nothing.

Was it not true that the houseman kept the two adjascent tables clear for the entire time that their match was on?

Best,
Brian kc

I dont know what happened. Maybe the houseman was a dick to the guy in the past? Maybe the houseman was betting on the other guy and kept the tables open so as not to shark his man. No one who wasnt involved knows for sure.

I do know for sure starting a thread *****ing about an unnamed person at a very particular time and place is designed to elicit a certain response and these type of trap threads just tilt me personally. Not saying the OP is right or wrong just stating my opinion that these types of threads tilt me.

Also keeping two tables open in the middle of the night usually isnt a Herculean task of resource management.

no that was no shot at you, promise!

I always tip well for good service. If an employee goes out of their way to make my experience more pleasant, I do the same for them.
