My 5,000th Post

I have mixed thoughts about starting this thread, for it's not my intent to shine the spotlight upon myself.

It took me just over 3 1/2 years to arrive at this moment, but this is my 5,000th post. I see this milestone as evidencing how enjoyable and worthwhile I have found the AZB forum experience to have been.

Thanks to all my fellow posters for making this forum so great, and here's looking forward to more good times conversing with and learning from you.

Finally, to Bill Porter, thanks for tracking my ascent to 5,000 and for the generous comments you made about me.

sjm, as far as I know, you have never tried to "shine the spotlight" on yourself. We all know posters whose contributions are pretty ego-driven and designed to make them look good in some way, but I haven't seen that in your contributions. And that's a big reason why I wanted to acknowledge your 5,000th, just as I did when Timberly reached that number. Heck, we all know that just piling up a lot of posts is nothing to shout about, but you have done much more than that with your quality contributions. Have a great day!:D

Congrats, sjm. For once, I'll ask you not to post for a few hours so we may all observe the beauty and symmetry of that magical "5000" by your name!

Seriously, your contributions really add so much to the board. Not only do you have a lot of posts, they're all very high quality.

I'm imagining a cake with 5,000 candles :D

It's good to have you here sjm!

Colin

ps. And so that the posterity of the moment is never lost, the image below was captured:cool:

congrats sjm, i just hit 50 posts and my wife says i spend to much time on here, wait till i get close to your mark, at this rate she'll have been long gone by then, lol, hope not, probably can't find another woman who puts up with all my hobbies as well as her.

Sjm,

Congrats! You are a great and prolific poster. What's hard to believe is that you made 5,000 meaningful, thoughtful posts - wow! Ad infinitum!

Tate said it best! Ditto what he said. SJM, thank you for 5000 meaningful, knowledgable, teachful posts... all done with the patience of a saint.

My only regret was that I wasn't home for the count down. Even me, the outspoken one was a little shy of all the attention but Bill's count down made it fun. If it weren't for Bill, I never would've noticed and I would've missed out on the fun that I had with it. Thank you Bill for a fun time and SJM, welcome to the exclusive 5000 club... it was getting lonely being the only member...now I've got the best company one could ask for. ;)

Instead of someone saying "Blow out the candles" they yell "FIRE!!!!"

Congrats on the 5000, SJM. I haven't been here long but your posts are good to read.

I think you were 4910 when gave you some rep last time and I mentioned the 5000 mark to you on the comments. I'm glad you decided to write something about it. It is a milestone for sure that we can all celebrate in. You da man and a testament to how much we are addicted to the Forum!!!! Thanks brother!

Bedtime

I'm an old guy with an early bedtime, but I wanted to chime in and say that I'm glad so many AZ people jumped onto this thread to thank sjm for all of his contributions to the forum. It was fun to do the countdown to 5,000, as it was for Timberly, and I hope it was a little fun for sjm as well. Nite all!

SJM,
Reading all these kind (and so very true) comments made me very happy for you. You really are one of our classiest posters who happens to have lots of knowledge & very little ego.
Looking forward to thousands more!
Terry
