Cole Dickson at the DCC!!!
Does anyone know if Cole Dickson has been in any action at the DCC or just in the tournament games? Its great to see him back in the scene and playing a little. Good for him.

If that annual income estimate is accurate no wonder she's in so much action. It's easy to bet and play relaxed when you can afford to lose the money.

No one can "afford" to lose ten, fifteen or twenty thousand! Jeanette bets high because these are stakes that are significant to her. If she was playing for a hundred a game that would be "sociable" pool for her. George and Jeanette have both got some serious gamble in them. I think it's pretty cool that they bring their family with them to experience what the "other" side of the pool world is all about. The kids have a nanny and go to bed at normal hours. But they spend time every day with their parents, and see what their life is like. I give the Breedlove family two thumbs up for being such cool parents!
Early this morning while I was bumping them around with Roy, Jesse Bowman and Scott Rabon came over and handed me two large wads of cash. Alas, it wasn't a tip! :frown:
They wanted me to hold the stakes for a One Pocket match between them. I told them when Roy and I finished I was going up to bed, and the winner could come up and collect from me. No problem and they went off to play. Four Ahead for 2K.
After my little match with Roy, I wandered around, saying goodbye to a few people and headed to my room. I just didn't feel tired, maybe because I had been staying up until seven or eight AM every morning. So I went over to where Jesse and Scott were playing. Jesse was three up and needed one game to win the money. But in this game Scott had the upper hand. Soon he needed one ball and Jesse needed five.
Jesse battled back making one good shot after another. All the balls were now down table. Jesse got a fortunate roll, scratching in the side! Yes, you heard me right. The scratch saved him the game, because Scott had to shoot from inside the kitchen. If Jesse hadn't scratched, Scott would have had an easy cross corner bank on his out ball. Weird game sometimes! Jesse still needed four balls, and when he got an opening he ran three and left a tricky long rail bank for Scott. Scott tried the bank but double kissed the object ball. Jesse then made a very nice reverse bank into his hole for the game and the match. Don't let anyone tell you Jesse Bowman only plays good on a bar table. The man is a serious player, capable of beating anyone on any table.

I watched Jeanette play several matches, she is great for the game but I would rather see someone else win the award. She seems to have several people with her at all times, carrying her cue, racking for her, makeing games for her, holding the money. She is more like a corporation then a Louie Roberts type person. I did not like her cancelling a match with Larry Price when all the lights were on GO, and we were waiting for the match to happen and she backed out to take a easier match with Brim Hat or what ever his name is and Ricky Byrd. Just my opinion, and everyone has one.
I would also throw in Richie Richardson in the mix as well as Jessie Bowman, Tedder, Road Dog, there was so much action this year, it will be hard to find a true winner, several people have good cases why they should win. Tom

You got that right -Jesse came to florida a few winters back-Played on the big table-nine ball and one pocket-I dont remember him losing a session.
Jay or anyone else, did the Jeanette Lee vs Larry Price round 2 every happen, I lost money on the first match, had to leave but would have doubled the bet if it ever happened. Just wanted to know how I would have come out, if leaving saved me or cost me money. Thanks, Tom
John Lewis used to say, Jesse was the only junior player that had skills equal to Earls when he was young, a natural born talent. John ran the BCA Jr. Nationals for about 14 yrs and got to see the best during his tenure.
What a tournament Jay, wouldn't you say. It would be the best thing for pool if we had about 3 of the derdy city classic tournaments a year. At different parts of the country. One on the East coast, Mid West, and West Coast. I know it would be tough, but it could happen.

From what I hear, plans are actually in the works. Not sure what the format would be. It's just a thought at this time. I might try to do all 3 if that would happen. I'll need a room-mate and practice partner tho.

Vegas should be one of the places considered. Tables stored in Henderson are only a hop, skip and jump away. Hell, actually only a hop.:grin:
