My HORRIBLE DIAMOND install!!

Poor installation and attitude = an instant call to Greg Sullivan directly and on speaker phone while they are there. Put everyone on the spot and chances are things would have worked out...maybe.

I had a similar situation, although not with diamond. The installers that set up the table were used to dealing with people that dont understand how a pool table should play. More like a piece of furniture than a tuned piece of equipment. I let them finish and called the salesman the next day. Soon after a local billiard mechanic turned up and did the job right. I am sure you will get this fixed to your satisfaction.

By the guy's attitude it was clear they weren't going to make any effort to do it right. You can insist all you want, they're not going to do a 180-degree attitude adjustment. Complaining to them would probably result in an even-worse job. I'd want them out of my house as soon as possible and then call Diamond to make it right.

Agreed, you can't teach a dog to fly no matter how insistent you are. From what the op said, clearly they were hacks, not only would I be glad they left, I might have kicked them out sooner, before they did irreparable damage to something.

They would have put right back on the truck. Chances are they were a cheap contractor Diamond hired. NOBODY comes into my home and talks to me that way! You might not have gotten your table right away but there are other options. Screw them!

Gotta say though, if they are guys diamond hired then they're diamond guys. I'm certain I could install my own

Just want to add they can put the table to the half inch where it should go. At the DCC when they were swapping out the 9' and 10' TV table several times, they had to have the table *exactly* centered under the overhead camera. They were nudging the table a hair at a time until Pat's crew was satisfied that it was centered on the camera monitor.

I never realized that Diamond tables were such a hot consumer commodity. I think I would have stopped them immediately when I sensed things weren't going as planned.

I would have asked them to take the table back and contacted Diamond for a refund.

I don't think that Diamond earned your business. I would contact Brunswick or any other table company and do business with them unless through your experience this is as good as it is going to get.

Nobody should pay to be made miserable.

Yeah, Lou did say that, but in response to someone else. I thought he was being facetious in his post.

I want to personally thank Glen (KingCobra) he has went out of his way to help me understand how to level the table and to offer his services to straighten this problem out.. At NO charge I might add.

ok, it's been 8 weeks and they are supposed to deliver my diamond professional
this weekend . i can't believe i am reading this now . i have read nothing but great
things about this company and its tables . honestly , i wouldn't know a good setup
or poor setup if they bit me in the but . i am all about trust . i did a lot of research
before spending 5 grand , now i am a little concerned . what can i do to insure a
top notch install ? how long should this setup take if done right? should i introduce
them to Babe, my 190lb English mastiff (she is intimidating to look at but the sweetest ,
gentlest dog i ever seen ) or sit back and hope for the best ?

I might be willing to take that bet. From what I understand perfect for you is an almost impossible task.

At least according to one installer who knows you well.

That guy happens also to be a better player than you. In my opinion of course.

I might give up odds that the installers leave your house before you are satisfied.

Just teasing you Lou don't get crazy. You are known for being a stickler about tables.

puh-leeeze, John. You're the last person on Earth to be talking about taking bets, lol. You'd just make up a reason to cancel it anyway.

Yes, but at the DCC and other big events they're using a special dolly to move the tables. With that it's no big deal. At someone's garage it's a different deal.

Either way I'm not saying he should have to settle for less than perfect.

Sorry for the situation, I think the first mistake you made was letting them bring in the table at 730 pm. No way would I agree to that. I always have service people come to my house first thing in the morning, when they are fresh and will have all the time it takes to do a good job. Sounds like you got the WAM BAM THANK YOU MAM job. Please let use know the rest of the storey. Good luck, Tom
