My "Propers"

Grady...You've been there in the past. Isn't it true that the kind of behavior going on in the Earl/SVB match was common back in the day? I know I've seen players from your era shark each other mercilessly. IMO it's one of the things that made them tough, and immune to anything.

Earl and Shane are playing "Grady's Rules." IT would be nice if they were called that.

i didn't know you started that particular set of rules. if you did, then absolutely, props to you.

Reminds me of when Al Gore said he invented the internet...I'm sure you have been influential in certain pool area's...but as long as both players agree to the same stipulations it is what it is...kind like in 9ball where some people want the 9 to be spotted if it's made on the break in the 2 back pockets & some people still play it's a win no matter what pocket it goes in on the break.

If your rules were used for tournaments on a future tour would you like them reffered to as "Grady's Rules"? I mean, someone invented the Texas Express rules, we don't call them "Joe Bob from Florida's Rules". Someone invented the game of Straight Pool, they don't call the game "Steve's Game".

"Hello folks and welcome to the Steve's Game World Championships, we have Mike Sigel facing Grady Mathews in the finals. They will be playing under the Carlos rules."

Sounds kinda ridiculous, no?

For the record they are the best rules I have ever seen in 10-ball, I know you invented them and you did a bang up job. But they need a proper name if they ever hit the mainstream that does not sound like they were invented in someones basement. That is critical for the sport not looking ridiculous. We cannot be playing "Paul's game, and today we are using Randy's rules, with Pete's scorekeeping system".

Back in the day??? This is routine with the guys I play with now;). In fact
we are worse>like it is OK to throw things at each other or reach out with a cue stick and poke someone just before their shot LOL. There are few things that are more satisfying then getting poked by a cue and then spearing a long straight shot in the corner on a tight Diamond:cool:.

Of course we are playing for bragging rights and not $$$:embarrassed2:

I like the rules they are playing.

I just knew that Earl was gonna come out of the gate fast yesterday, That was the best bet I seen in pool in a very long time. Today i'm not so sure whats gonna happen.

Dear Celtic

You must be kidding: According to Hoyle, Marquis of Queensbury, etc. When I have time I'll relate my history of these rules, which you should find interesting.
