Need help-Josswest cue from Erik Lee cues

Is anyone heard about Erik Lee cues?
Or trade with him before?

Recently find a nice JossWest cue from Erik Lee(http://www.erikleecues.com/index2.html) with reasonable price from my point of view.
"The Silver Leaf" cue (new unchalked cue)
As i'm lived in China, and do not have a paypal and i ask Erik if i could use my friend's paypal account to pay for the cue and shipping it to my address.
But Erik told me that "As far as payment is concerned, we have to do bank wire transfer."
Never use bank wire transfer before, but seems a bit risky.
Any advise for this matter?

I suggest an escrow service if your not comfortable with the wire transfer. On your end with pay pal, it is also very risky for Mr. Lee, because you are using your friends pay pal with his address registered but having it shipped to your address. Not a comfortable situation.
 
Escrow service is always nice. There are a few people on these forums who do escrow.

BUT,

To answer your question, Eric lee's cues are good people. They have done business on here with no issues.

I have asked Erik quite a few questions on cues and he has always been straight with me. He does post on here, but I can't remember his azb name.
 
I have used wire transfer a lot of times. The bank does all the work. No worries. Eric is a great guy too. Rod.

Is there a problem with shipping a cue with a ton of real Ivory to China? I know Marcus (fast N Loose) will not provide escrow service shipping internationally if the cue has Ivory in it.
 
Looks like Eric just covering his bases. He is a good seller and will treat you right. Wire trans because he doesn't want to find out a PP account was stolen and used fraudulent.
Wire trans just cost a few more dollars and guarantees the seller his money.

My advise would be to go to your local bank and find out what it takes to send Eric payment using a wire transfer. You WILL NOT have any problems dealing with Eric. He's a stand up dude...period.
 
He is good with responses, just make sure if you do the transaction to inspect the cue thoroughly when you get it. I had an issue with a tip on a "new cue" that didn't get covered when it came off within the first 3 months of hitting with it.
 
Erik is a businessman. I've picked up a cue from him personally and he was very professional at every turn. Ivory is the kicker....shipping it outide the US is always risky IMO. For the money, escrow is cheap piece of mind ;)
 
Have talked to Erik. I wouldn't have a problem sending him a wire transfer. As a added note I think he is one of the contributors to the Blue Book.

He has been in business for a few years and I haven't ever heard any negative things about him.

Shipping ivory ANYWHERE outside of the US could be a problem, as it is illegal.
 
I agree with the others:

- I have purchased two cues from Erik with absolutely no issues
- Shipping ivory overseas has risks
- Shipping cues overseas has risks in general, damage and so forth
- Wire transfer protects the seller on international transactions, but you don't have much recourse if the deal is bad (which it should not be with Eric) or if something happens to the cue in-transit

He should shipped the cue to a Paypal address and not someone else address(reason : Paypal account holder can claimed not receiving the cue).

And if you do wiretansfer, you need to add on $20~$30 for receiving end bank charges. Wire-transfer is cheaper if you are ordering a highend cue.

or if do not mention it and just write personal belonging on the shipping documents.

And i just received a email from Erik, he no longer take paypal.
Even i was set up a paypal account yesterday.
As you guys told me that Erik is a good person to trade with, bank wire transfer will ok at this kind if situation.
Do not know about EScrow?

WHy there is another post in the same name and detail as this one, kind of confused.
Escrow is cool.
Will ask Erik if he would agree.
