need some opinions on a trade made

I dont know about most of you guys, but I think the guy that got the Huebler, got way the best of the deal.

Yea, I do agree on that....but if your gonna send me a cue with 2 large cracks in the butt....at least tell me they are there so I can decide if I want to do the trade or not....dont Suprise me with that stuff....

I think it should have been told from the git go...

Anyways....hope all gets settled on this issue!!!

I was sure that i mentioned this, but cuetip says i did nt either way i would never send a cue thinking that the receiver was unaware C MON, of course i would have to go through this, so why would i do this to myself it makes no sense, It was a tiger x first gen not the ultra which i thought it was, and you dont see me making a big deal, Its not like he sent me expensive cue or anything for that matter and i sent nothing, It would be stupid of me to do something so minor on here being that i would like to sell, trade, and purchase on this forum. It was all miscommunication and i tried to resolve it the best way i thought possible, but cuetip wanted it his way or no way at all, asking for money and threating my rep on this forum, I am not on here to rip people off and am irritated that i even have to defend myself when someone doest get his way, so wants to ruin the rep of another.

He's right, I did ask for some funds as compensation. A whole $30 ( canadian which is like $19 in US funds) based on a thread that spoke about replacing a joint collar on a huebler, and everybody knows that replacing a butt cap is more expensive.

Thats way cheaper than I'd fix it with an Elforyn joint, juma ferrule & Everest tip. Let Mr. Rat cues fix it...for $45 you can't go wrong. He may even throw in a free tip & shipping.

Play with a VARNEY or get beat by one!

Cash ain't heavy...carry some!

I thought I was being very fair as I said I would forgive and forget, but he thinks I'll still want to do a future trade with him ( yeah right....) and I'll get the better deal.

Trades

Tradin aint always all it's cracked up to be, esp when frt cost is a significant % of items swapped.

What 2 do, what 2 do:scratchhead:

Sure wish the cracks would have been referenced in the sale/trade thread..

I posted my first cue for sale last month and ended up doing a trade on it. I know for selling that if there was any reason the buyer wasn't happy that I would refund w/ no questions asked. I would do the similar for a trade, which basically would be both parties sent things back. Luckily we both had accurate descriptions and were both very happy with the trade.

It sounds like both parties here miscommunicated a little bit, so they need to either come to a mutual agreement or undo the trade and ship each others things back. Just my 2 cents worth.

It certain was a stupid thing to do, did you exchange Pm's? If you did then the entire deal should be outlined in those Pm's, that is what they are far. The entire situation, including the type of shaft and the Cracked butt should have been outlined and agreed to in Pm. This way you could protect yourself from this type of problem. but now unless you can produce some Pm's I would resolve the issue or stand up and fight it only you guy's know what is right.

I guess it's a good thing I have kept all the pms. Once I realized there was a problem, I saved every pm to 8power8. on my hard drive. I was tempted to place them all on the thread, but I'm not really looking to embarass this guy more than he is at this point. My description of the shaft was simple,

You speaketh the truth. While not terms of trade yet, if anyone ever wants to trade without a bad rep, follow this rule. If one party is not happy, presumably the buyer, then unwind the transaction. That way, no hard feelings and no bad reps. The fact that someone will NOT unwind usually means there is something untoward going on.

This reminds me of back in the 70's when I was in the market for a used car. I found a 2 year old car advertised in the paper and called to find out more about it. I asked if there were any body damage. Asked how the interior was such as cig burns, worn spots, rips and etc. Was told everything was perfect. Since the guy was asking premium price it appeared to be what I was looking for and worth the 75 mile drive to his place. Arrived there and the car was not visible. Knocked on the door and inquired about it. He took me around the back of the house and there was the car. It was sitting on blocks with no wheels, a fender and hood was missing, a broken windshield and one bucket seat missing.

I was pissed. I yelled at him that you told me that the car was perfect. He said that everything that I asked about was. He said that I didn't ask about the glass and everything else on the car is perfect and that I didn't ask if anything was missing.:banghead:

his description of the cracks

Here is his pm regarding the " Minor cracks "

Well to try and make this a little shorter than the one i wrote yesterday, I thought that you were aware of the cracks ( and that they were not as big as you say they are ) It was my playing cue for leagues and tournys up untill i sent it off and the playability was not affected whatsoever, I had a few people interested and was sure that i let everyone know that the cracks were there, I am new to this AZ forum and would never try to pull something like this, I would like to continue doing things on this site and doing this would just hurt me in the end, I have had problems with msg's not being sent i dont know if you didn't recieve a few or.. i just thought i mentioned it but maybe i did nt, none the less i am sorry for the miscommunication and hope you will accept my apologies, as for replacing the butt cap i dont think there is anything i can do, If you decide to ever do business with me again i can try to make it up next time and BE MORE CLEAR about what i am sending, like i said i would never do this intentionaly because it just would' nt be in my best interest. I am truly sorry and hope we can move past this. If you have any other concerns please feel free to pm me.

If I put up more of his pm's, you would almost think it was Eddie Wheat talking with everything coming out sideways and nothing making any sense.

Does anybody think I am out of line for asking for the $30 to get the cue repaired. If we undo the exchange, I'll be out $25 for shipping there and another $25 to ship back. Seems to me that the request for $30 resolves everything

Appreciate any feedback

Walter

you are waaaaaaaaaay in reason, hes a idiot if he doest pay the money! your not askin for much! and he knew the damage was on the cue!!

nothin personal for the trader but cmon, you know hat you did, just fess up and keepo your rep here gold, make the other guy happy especially since you didnt disclose the butt was SCRAP!

I had a similar deal concerning a new member. A new member of March/09 was selling a Muecci. His total posts were 5 (including the sale of the cue). I made an offer and he replied with good communication. I stated that I would do the deal but because of the potential risk and 0 itrader history, combined with my perfect history, that he send the cue first and I would send payment after. I also stated I would assist with a very positive note explaining his trust and transfer this to his trader history. He in turn stated he did not feel comfortable doing the transaction in this manor but he would think about it and contact me later if he decided to go with it. It is 11:30pm and no call no PM. I PM'd him to state I thankyou but I consider this transaction cancelled.

He did state he had a positive EBAY account but with a proven history.....but I just feel, like exactly what happened in this case, the new members need to take the risk......not the proven members hope for the best. This person I was talking too was really nice and well spoken, I just feel the risk is like credit.....it is earned first and enjoyed later.

Sorry about the crack, anyone who does not include that on thier description goes on my "do not do business with" list.

You are not out of line at all. He should either pay you the $30 cash to get it fixed or offer to trade back, and you each pay your own shipping. To say there is nothing he can do until next time you and him do a deal, and then he will only "try".... wtf? Why would you or anyone want to do a deal with someone like that. I know I will be staying clear.
If he truly wants to continue to do business on azb and is concerned about his best interests then he needs to make this first deal right.
Good luck Walter.

Didn't tell me either

I was looking at that cue, he even sent me pictures, but not of the cracks. I guess that it slipped his mind. Send it to Ryan and let him fix it; you will still be OK, but the lack of honesty does suck.

This kinda reminds me of Jason Klatt's scruffy old Huebler. That thing has duct tape on the butt because he cracked the buttcap. :D

Cue

That Wheatty man or Easy Eason both do warranty work and both accept buck wheat coupons with quick turn around.

You still came out on top even with an additional $30

Yes! The deal kinda sucks, but you still came out on top even if you pay for the new butt cap at $30.00. Huebler cues will continue to increase in value but the old Tiger x shaft will decrease and thats a given. Just leave appropriate fb at i-trader, bump the thread every week or two to keep it fresh and let others know of the experience! DO NOT to trade with other person again. Experience is the BEST teacher. Now you never have to deal with that person again. They are out of your life permanently, for $30. A rather cheap price to not be bothered again by that person. Wouldn't you agree? Thats my 2 cents, add $1.00 and you can get a cup of coffee.

thanks to all that replied

I would like to thank all members that replied with an opinion or statement to this thread.
I initially posted because I felt 8power8 wasn't comprehending ( 10 pm's later )how diligent AZ'ers are about being upfront when they enter into a transaction ( cash or trade), and that reasonable time frames need to be adhered to.
To date, his attitude and comprehension haven't changed, and I'm not gonna waste any more energy on this individual.

Thanks again
