I have just made a deal to produce a sixteen man Invitational tournament in the Los Angeles area on Feb. 5-8, 2015. The prize fund will be $50,000 with $20,000 going to the winner! I am announcing it now in the hope that other promoters will respect these dates and not schedule a conflicting event. It is the week following Derby City.

I can assure you, I'm not. They're going to invitationals because they want to control which pros can and cannot play. It's politics. And to be honest, it totally limits the prize funds but like I said, they get the players they want.

I understand what you're trying to say but it's a flawed theory and backwards thinking. Yes, I played last year in the US Open 10ball, and I suck, and it's a joke that I'm able to play in that event... but think of it this way, for every banger in the field, is another "bye" for the real players. For ever banger they have in the field, that's an extra $500 going into the professionals pockets. If there were 100 people my speed that played in that pro event (and they don't limit the field), that's $50,000 of DEAD MONEY going straight to a good players pockets. They should encourage as many players as they can get, of any skill.

Two separate events entirely. I'm sure many of the same players will play in both though.

I laughed a little bit after reading this...with who stays at your house all the time you could just hold it there and do PPV streaming only.

You'd save a lot on expenses and most of the players are at your house anyway.

This event is made possible by the filipino community in Los Angeles and because of that, eight of the sixteen players will be filipino. It will be broadcast on a Philippine television station as well. I plan to invite four American players and four foreign players.

Some of the names on my short list include: Efren, Francisco, Dennis O., Lee Vann, Warren, Carlo, maybe Alex, and possibly Parica. Also you can expect to see Shane and one or two of our young stars along with him. Among the foreign players, Darren, Thorsten and Niels lead the pack right now. With a small field like this I won't have a place for all the deserving players. Much of it will depend on how they do this year.

Prize money should look like this: 1. $20,000 2. $10,000 3-4. $5,000 each and 5-8. $2,500 apiece. The entry fee will also be minimal.
