I finally got around to editing scanned negatives of the Dallas pool scene from Mike Haines. I believe all of these images are from the 1980s. We fully understand that the audience for such images is pretty limited, but we know that a few of you out there will appreciate our efforts. I have not put identifying captions on the images yet, so if you can identify the people in these photos, we would appreciate it if you leave a comment with names or other information about the pictures.

Since some of you like a challenge now and then, here's one for you. One of the images in this gallery shows the cue makers who crafted a no longer produced but quite collectable cue. Can you name the cue makers and the name of the cue they produced?

Here's a little help with some names.
#1, 2,-Larry Land
3-Tommy Rey
4-Diane Reynolds
5-her deceased husband I think.
9-Larry Fisher
14-Randall Fry in the background.
16-Larry Land
18-Last name is Smith can't remember first name.
19-Jimmy Foster in background.
21-Larry Fisher also in picture.

btw I love your pictures, just wish I was in them. I was playing also at Clicks back then when these pics were taken.

The only player I recognized in the whole grouping was Dick Lane, several times, with very large glasses.

They are great period pictures of what a pool room was like in the '80s. I'd recognize that Yardley Sky Blue Eye Shadow every time! :D

Maybe you COULD be in one of these old pics. After all, look at how Randy go into this 1982 image of Earl Strickland.

I just looked thru all the gallaries and those are some really cool pics. Shows some of the history of the players and games that many of us didn't get to experience growing up.

Thanks for sharing the pics! Great job

That is sooo funny. Has randy seen this? That's really cool how you did that Bill. You know that Randys favorite player is Buddy. He needs this on his wall at home. I'll call him and let'em know. lol.

Dean, Randy has that tricked up photo. But thanks for the compliment!:)

a few more photos added to the gallery

I just added 6-7 photos taken at a party for Frank Thompson (aka Bird). These were probably the last photos taken of Frank (a very strong player, by the way) before he died.

And I'm not sure, but for some reason, 20 & 28 remind me of Paul Guersney. Whether it is or not, I don't know, just the mouth, eyes, and pointed nose remind me of him.

That's New York Blackie in #32. There was already a Low Down Dirty Red, but we should make room for Down and Dirty New York Blackie. I love him and I hate him. That's the kind of guy he is. Freddie would understand.

And that's a young and beautiful Cathy Vanover in #63 with Jim Webb. Although she wasn't a Vanover yet.
