We have scholars, scoundrels, the curious, the all knowing ones, the braggarts, wannabees, road tough veterans, characters and caricatures, cheats and swindlers,the earnest and honest, some loud vexations of the spirit-a big helping of why we love/hate this/these games.
Kinda like why we can't stay away from the pool hall too long-we might miss something good/or bad. It's the vice they warned us about. Ain't it great!?
We argue and woof and deceive and disguise and then we come clean and apologize, swear off the game, stay gone for a while in disgust,then happen to see some pool (probably womens') on ESPN or just hear the click of the balls on the TV from an adjacent room-and we're back!!
Just like most families-we disagree, argue and belittle each other -with luck we get past it. We fight and become better friends for it.
