Good day everybody,

A local friend of mine - who's actual a really strong 9ball and 3-cushion player - designed a new set of poolballs and asked me to post these up for the people of the largest on-line billiards community.

We are genuinely interested in what you have to say about them and also are open to any offers, ideas regarding the creation of these sets.

Please let us know your thoughts,
Kindest Regards,
Szabolcs and David

A little to busy for my taste. Also looks a little like miniature baseballs.
Nice design for non- conventional set's though.

Interesting for sure, but not my cup of tea. I agree they are a little busy. For one thing there is really no need to have the number of each ball spelled out, the numeral should suffice. I also find all the dots a little distracting.

Having said that, they seem handsome enough and may do very well in the novelty ball market for home use. There actually is a pretty good market for something out of the ordinary for people to have on their home tables. But I think pool players generally are pretty traditional when it comes to this so I doubt they would catch on commercially. Take the "Beautiful" Elephant balls as an example of that.

Best of luck with the venture.

First time I've seen a new design for pool balls that I'm actually considering whether or not I would go away from the tournament standard. Interesting very cool stuff, kind of reminds me of the stitching on wingtip shoes. I'd like to see what they look like when rolling on a table. One thing is for sure they aren't any busier looking than elephant balls are and their coloring is a whole lot more consistent. Did you come up with a complimentary design for a matching cue ball?

They look nice enough, although I agree with the too busy comments. What does the cue ball look like?

Very interesting, very unique design. I'm not sure how long it would take to get used to shooting at these.

I really don't like the way they look but using these balls could help
with finding a spot on the ball and aiming.

Hey David,

i would be interested to testdrive one of your Set's

Just send one of them to your good ol Dude Berny :grin-square:

Best
Berny

PS: rid of the dots along the sides but keep the dots around the numbers :)

Wow, thank you all very much for your thoughtful comments! Each and every post is greatly appreciated and the points made are noted.

I'd like to apologize for the long absence, I've been awfully busy lately. Today I am going to transfer all your posts to my friend who designes this set. Before anything else I'll ask for a CB design and a set without the dots on the lines, remaining only around the numbers.

My personal view is that while I also believe that this is too busy a set for hard-core tournament play I reckon it could be a fantastic addition for home play when no matter how traditional of a pool player you are, just taking this set out for when friends visit could cheer people up - and perhaps give a sport with great history a bit of a more modern look.
I'd still be interested in seeing what my buddy could come up with for a hardcore tourny set, though.

Anyhow, thank you again for your comments and we are looking forward to hearing more from AZ users either regarding this set or the following one!

Only my 2 cent

First of all, all the balls should look the same. In case of that I would
take the NINE BALL with the WHITE PART, not the BLACK PART and for
the same reason the 1 BALL should be WHITE around a yellow number :grin-square:

And the other thing should be these dots. I think they look great, but
it should be the same ammount on ALL BALLS. In that case you should
only make them around the NUMBERS, and not on the straight lines of
the group from 9 to 15.

And then I would really consider them as a great new inovation, because
I am another guy who thinks this balls what be great on TV - colourwise
and stylewise.

Great job at all,
Eric"h"

I think they look great. I also think the dots would help with aiming and seeing the edge of the ball in certain instances. They look better than anything I have seen that is non traditional.
