New Year-New Shop Toys-Going to Sell Hightower

But it's getting to be so pretty!! Are you sure you want to mess it up with wood chips and sawdust?
;)

Daggum nice when your vision takes shape. That is a fine job you're doing. Can't wait to see Cindarella make it to the ball. greg

Should be running this week with a little luck.

How in god's name is your shop so clean?

I really don't know, one thing may be a little over a year ago I started working my way up to doing cues and I had nothing, just try a take care of what I have been blessed with.

Another may be
OCD!!!!
Plain and simple
Like the lathe, it drives me nutz by it not being the best I can make it.

Leon, looking for a name for the green monster. just not found one yet. Would love to hear some thoughts from everyone.

Brad, thank you, that post made my day. I didn't set out for it to be like that, but am amazed myself at how it is coming together.
Steve
Thank you again for that comment.

Your Clausing color green reminded me of a 1960 Plymouth Fury Rat Fink. You are doing a nice job on that lathe.

About thru, little touch up paint. Have a bit more to add, paint drying on what's left.
Tomorrow I fire it back up, DONE at last.

Thanks for following the project.

Hopefully I did the old Clausing some justice.

How do you plan to tram the headstock back into alignment with the lathe bed?

I'm sure some adjusting will be necessary for it to cut clean straight cylinders.

There is a pin that is driven into front right foot of the headstock. I really looked at it before I removed it. Once that pin is driven thru the headstock foot and into the bed, it doesn't seem to be anyway to move the headstock.
Was going to get machine in its work station, level the bed, then level headstock. Once it's leveled I will drive it the pin and lock down the support clamps.
Bought the Starrett #98 Machinist Level
There may be something I'm missing, but I hope this should do it. Would be happy to listen to any other things I need to do.

And trying this
