Notice to Diamond of no longer delivering pool tables.

Dear Greg, Chad, and Mark.

I feel it's only fair that I regretfully inform all of you that as of June 1st or there abouts, once I have finished delivering the tables I am committed to deliver, I'll no longer be delivering anymore of Diamonds pool tables. Due to irreconcilable differences, being this Diamond truck I lease from Diamond to deliver these Diamond tables, and the requests for something newer to deliver your pool tables with for the last 6 months, I can no longer do my job efficiently and cost effective as a sub-contractor as the cost of operating this vehicle is just to outrageous.

Once I've completed the last of my deliveries, I'll drop your truck off at the Diamond factory, then purchase something used to tow my trailer and belongings back to Washington State, where I'll resume my profession as a Billiards technician once again.

I have no hard feelings toward Diamond, or their employees, I've had a long relationship with most of you, dating back to March of 2000. I just feel that at this time, this is the best thing for all of us.

I have tried on several occasions to speak with all three of you about this situation, but over the last 6 months, I feel my concerns for better, more reliable transportation have fallen on the unimportant list, as in not a priority at the moment. A lot of moments have passed in the last 6 months.

Rather than part on bad terms, I feel it's only fair to inform you this way, as then I know you'll hear me, and my message.

To anyone that was planning on having me deliver your pool tables in the near future, I'm sure Diamond will make arrangements to still make that happen, just not with me.

Sincerely, Glen...the Realkingcobra.

I know Greg has been busy trying to tie down a location for the DCC but I hate to hear this news. I think you should have a nice truck to do your job, nothing looks better to a customer than to see a nice truck pulling into their driveway to make a delivery, very professional looking. The miles you put on I would think you should get a new truck at least every 3-5 years. I'm in the car business and I'll sell you one at cost just to keep you out there. In fact, I was hoping I could get you to deliver me a table one of these days. Don't quit yet, I'm sure Greg will work something out, he seems like a good guy. Would hate to see the RKC go back in the basket, he needs to be out on the road where he can strike.

Wow! It sounds like the truck you've been leasing is on it's last legs... sounds unsafe, too. You used the words "more reliable"... which makes it sound like you were using unreliable vehicles.

Are you sure that truck is safe enough to deliver those tables you still have to deliver?

You know what FORD stands for don't you..."Found on road DEAD"...LOL...we'll see, I still have about 10,000 more miles to go before I can park it for good;)

Sir I don't know you and for all I know, you might be a very nice person. By doing this on an open forum you open yourself up to ridicule amongst other things. I certainly am not going to ridicule you sir but I feel compelled to tell you that what you've done is very unprofessional.

The correct way to submit your resignation is to type it up in a letter and submit it (by mail or even email if you're not in a position to do it in person) to your superior. This is not the way to do it and it's quite possible that by doing this, you've hurt yourself more than you can imagine. A potential employer will see this and consider you to be a liability and not hire you because of it.

Sir, on that note...offers to work for others IS what I have, because of what I do, few technicians in this country are on an equal level with me when it comes to delivering/setting up/fixing pool tables. I will not get into the specifics of my reasons for giving this notice, but I do have my reasons.

As long as you're still putting them together... this WILL factor in to my decision on where to live between Scottsdale and Bellingham. Will you do work that far North?

Honestly I'm hoping they buy you a brand spanking new truck or at least buy a good used one. Hell they've probably made enough on sales through you (convincing people to buy diamonds) to buy a nice 18 wheeler :p

At the very least I would expect them to pay for your gas... anyway wish you the best whatever the outcome and hope I get to benefit from your expertise.

You may be the greatest table mechanic in the world but if any companies that wish to employ you in the future sees this thread then they might think twice. I'm sure they wouldn't want their business spread on a messageboard without being notified or have a chance to respond, you just upped the ante by 10 times by making things so public.

You have some mighty large balls my friend, I hope this "letter" works out for you in the long run. Good luck with everything and sorry to hear that things between you and the Diamond company didn't work out.

Edited.

I will be in Las Vegas for a month. Anyone wants to play some friendly games at Pool Sharks or Cue Club?

Glen you are a great guy and I dont care who you are but having to leave your truck running 24/7 litterally is just rediculous. I know because we got the cops called on us while he was setting up my table in February haha. Well you better be game to come down to Boise to setup my table in my new house. Hell Ill even come pick you up! Best of luck Glen!

I feel for you cobra. I own 15 big trucks. Someone like you should have a new vehicle every 250,000-350,000 miles max. Even less if they are gasoline powered. As I am sure you have found once you get past a certain point they will cost much more to operate than a new lease. This doesn't even consider safety issues and DOT enforcement.

I have found that good looking equipment makes almost as good of a impact as the personal doing the work. Doesn't seem to make since but thats the way it is. I think people assume that if a company can't afford decent equipment that they can't perform the task at hand.

I hope you can get all of this worked out.

I worked with Glen for a few hours at a pool hall. Afterwards we had to pop the hood and spray a half can of starting fluid to get the truck started. I was thinking the whole time, what if the pool hall owner is watching us, this isn't leavning a good impression. I worked with him on another job on a Sat and Sun. Every two hours he went to start his truck to let it run for 20 minutes or else he will need to use the starting fluid.

Glen...Actually FORD stands for Fix Or Repair Daily! :D I can attest to the condition of Glen's truck, as it broke down last June, up in WI, at a doctor's house, who was having a table delivered and set up by Glen. We had scheduled a 2-day lesson six months prior, and I drove a few hundred miles to meet my appt. We had to reschedule for a month later, as the table was not installed on schedule.

Yea that will leave a lasting impression. I had a conversation with a freight broker today. We were discussing a company cutting trucking rates. I asked the broker who was the trucking company. She says I don't know but the shipper said it was some red piece of sh*t that didn't look like it would make it out of the parking lot. The sad thing was I knew exactly who she was talking about. The point is everybody remembers that kind of stuff. It reflects very badly on the company doing the work.

Wow!

I think a face-to-face notice (or a letter, fax, phone call) should have been the choice. Not here.

Been there, done that for the last 6 months;)

Wow! They have ignored you terminating your contract with them and forced you to work for them for the last six months? That is involuntary servitude! Contact the Fed's and Diamond will face a huge fine if not be shut down completely. Of course if you are saying that they haven't been responsive to your requests and demands for better equipment when you didn't air your linen and theirs on a public forum that is a horse of a different color.

I have never in my life had anyone fail to understand I was terminating a contract when I sent them a letter stating I was doing so. If there is any doubt, send it certified. Of course if this is a pressure play to get a new truck, please carry on, I wouldn't want to interrupt you.

Hu

Glenn I am sorry to hear that Diamond has not done right by you with that truck.

I would be very interested in seeing how long they keep that truck in circulation after you turn it in.
