This thread should not be deleted. If you didn't want your words to be viewed continuously in a public forum, don't post them. If you didn't want people to be able to reply to those words you posted, don't post them. Learn what a forum is. Don't expect AZB moderators to let you start a topic and then yank it away at your whim.

Shinobi:
I understand the nature of a public forum.I have no problem with people replying to my words. They express their thoughts and I express mine. My request to lock/delete the thread was based on Mr.Edwards wanting to put the matter to rest once he received his cue.Mr. Edwards early on established that he could actually forgive his trespasser. You raise a valid point but I was not making my request on a"whim". Personally I have no problem with letting this thread stand.I would like to see AZB establish a Hall of Shame section so that the disreputable and deadbeats could be easy to identify.
Best regards,

Brian

as for myself how could you sit and watch someone steal from your friends
and condone it. it is my opion .(though be it i am new to azb ) if you allow
your neighbors house to be pillaged what happens when your house is next

God forbid if it was lost in the mail.
I sure hope it doesn't get lost, but I'm starting to get a little concerned.

Thursday I mailed a cue Priority Mail to Dick Neighbors in Ohio for some work. He got it Saturday.

Mr. Wheat said he mailed my cue Wednesday. From my home to Ohio or Florida looks to be the same distance... I wonder what's going on?

For those who are interested... 2 more cues were shipped out today !

Gordon Phelps - Maine

Mike Anderson - Canada

I'm really busy trying to get ALL my customers orders processed and completed.... Just thought I would take a break and give you guys the updates !

Take care everyone !

What are the chances 2 names were picked from a phone book followed by throwing 2 darts at a map of north America?Either of these people members of AZB?If so perhaps they could post when they placed their orders. Better yet what are the chances of 2 people not being on AZB ordering and actually receiving a cue from wheat?I would guess slim and none and that slim left town.By Tuesday more will be revealed. Will the cue arrive or not arrive, that is the question.Could wheat provide definitive proof to Mr. Edwards that he actually mailed the cue?How hard can it be to provide proof of mailing an insured package? In view of other posts , let the thread remain for all eternity.

Posting pictures after repeated failed deliveries is meaningless. Why not provide proof of mailing to Mr. Edwards? This coming Tuesday should tell the story.

I may be wrong, but for some reason these posts and pictures sound and look very similar to something Varney posted when he was having problems.

It is not easy to identify but the cue looks very much like the one posted on 19 August 2008, posted in the "ed wheat....let's get it on"thread. In that post the cue was identified as Charlie's and being held by "Blackjack".If the cue was actually mailed it should be at Mr. Edwards no later then Tuesday.

Uh-Oh !!!

.................. UPDATE ! .................

Due to Category III hurricane Gustav, Charlie Edwards shipped cue was blown off course.

The Wheat Cue is in the process of being returned to Eddie Wheat and will be re-shipped at a later date......yet to be determined.

That's a beautiful Prather forearm on that cue. Recognize the gap in those points anywhere :)

Why would yoy say something like that??? Is it true???
Does EW not build his own cues??? Is he a cue "assembler"???
If it's not true you owe him an apology & deserve to be banned for trying to hurt his business. It's one thing to bash a guy because he is late, it's another to post complete lies in an attempt to hurt his business.
This isn't the first time you have done this.

Charlie Edwards may yet become another victim of DCS... (Deprived Cue Syndrome)

I'm not sure what to make of this post. No winks by jasonlaus -> very serious post in reply to what I didn't catch to be an intended harmful post. Interesting twist...

He is implying the forearm is made by someone other than EW, Prather in this case. To imply that someone is falsely claiming to build their own cues [not blanks from someone else] is serious in my opinion. The question is does EW make his own cues, not assemble cues built by parts from other makers. If he builds his own cues then Shawn owes him an immediate apology. If he is an assembler then I owe Shawn an apology.

If you go to the Prather web site you will see why the the comment was made.No one owes wheat an apology because when it comes to false claims he has cornered the market. It is not unreasonable to question any and all aspects of wheats claims. What is unreasonable is to advertise 90-120 day turn around time on a cue knowing that he was not in compliance, make 4 promises of delivery, resort to private messages containing insults and petty threats , continue to self promote and seek attention as though his past actions are irrelevant. No one can damage wheat's business beyond what he has done to himself and that is if there really is a business.Unfortunately a forgiving soul made the mistake of extending trust to wheat and to date he has been rewarded with nothing but false stories,no cue, no refund and aggravation.I hope Mr. Edwards receives his cue on Tuesday but I would not be shocked if all he receives is another disappointment.

I wonder how everyone could possibly be expected to appreiciate those pics. I mean I need pics of a cue to be customized to MY eyes and MY eyes ONLY. I mean, if we are to talk about TRULY custom, then let's go all the way. I hear this guy has a reputation for that kind of thing.

Isn't that the logic for not letting a number of different peopel to demo one of these truly custom cues? BTW 58'' 19 oz? Wow, who else could POSSIBLY be expected to play with a cue with such custom specs like that? 8 points? ivory? Surely there isn't a single other cuemaker that could deliver this kind of unusual beast. Oops, I used the word "deliver". That is a dirty word when discussing these cues.

Seriously, I truly hope that this cue DOES arrive. I hope the cue is of acceptable quality, and I hope that Mr Edwards is able to recover his investment.

I feel that whenever something like this happens. It NEEDS to be discussed here in a PUBLIC forum. Mr Wheat is not shy about using this public forum to advertise, criticize, and do business ( take money from other members). He is fully aware that this is a public forum that reaches many people of all levels in the pool world. This is a double edged sword. He is free to access and post replies to every post made on here. This is not done in secret or behind his back. He has an opportunity to defend himself. BTW, the best defense would be to deliver on his promises and conduct tried and true good business practices. This ALWAYS gets noticed and recognized! Reputation in this business is probably one of the MOST important things. I know that there are MANY who read these posts, and become informed. They will not post or express their opinions, but they will act on this knowledge. This forum is a great wealth of info and a way of finding out what is what. I find it very hard to beleive that many people on this forum will be sending in full payments on the promise of a cue, but what do I know? All I can say is that I know I wouldn't. There are far too many good and great cuemakers out there who truly value their customers and potential customers, who wouold bend over backwards to make a customer happy. Especially in this kind of economy, I think this point should not be lost.

Basically, people should be informed about this kind of behavior. I think if people are trustworthy and make good on their promises it should be publicly noted. The same is also true of the flip side.

my .02 , or probably closer to 1.00!
Jason
