this is really a great looking cue, quite a twist on the box cue ,the wood does the talking.I can not think of a better person to make such a cue as Bob Owen, look closely at the mitred corners, these are not easy to make.

I have had the greatest cuemakers in the world make box cues, and these of Bob's play second fiddle to none of them

life is like a box of chocolates. heck with the chocolates i love boxes! this is a very beautiful cue with unique box sizes and inlays with matching ring work and beautiful woods truly an awesome cue.

Very nice combination of woods. The color balance and design choice make an overall excellent composition for the cue.

the box cue,and everyone loves box cues

Congrats, Dean, great cue. Lacewood is pretty amazing.
Strong work, Bob! this is one of those box cues where the coloration & mitering give it a 3 dimensional quality.

Lacewood? Is that Lacewood on my cue?I thought it was Leopard wood.Truth is I never saw either one ,but I would like to know so I don't show my rear end.

Dean,

Lacewood and Leopardwood look almost the same. Below are links of each with descriptions from Bell Forest.

Either way that is one beautiful cue, I got to see it live when I was in Bob's shop a few weeks back. Nice cue.

The wood in that cue is Leopardwood. Leopardwood and Lacewood do look very similar but, Leopardwood is darker brown and much heavyer.

thanks

Bob
thanks for straightening me out on which wood,I seemed to remember you said Leopard wood.Heavier woods usually mean better hit in my thinking, but I would be at a loss to explain why.
If someone here on AZ knows why,it would be interesting to read.I took this cue to the pool room and people gave me tons of compliments.I have several box cues with Ivory boxes but this one is getting more compliments.GO figure?

Dean

Congrats to both of you (Bob and Dean) to that amazing piece of wood.
I am normaly not a fan of box cues, sorry Dean not everyone is , but that wood combo is awesome.
The corners on the boxes looks perfect, the wooden wrap section is awesome and for me the rings are - wow - that´s it
