One Pocket Lessons (expensive)

thanks Mark Gregory

Bill, happy to see your credentials are not in the marketing field. ;)
I will agree with you on your experience in the game of one-pocket.

With out question you have a tremendous amount of knowledge of the game.....but sometimes short
and to the point is not the answer.

Try listing some names of people you have given lessons to......like Scott said....just because you can play, don't mean you can teach.

I'm not saying you can't....just give more info about who you are.....that will help a great deal.
I know you personally....yes you played the game very well....you have a great deal of knowledge to share.

People just need to know more, and I'm sure you will get people taking lessons.
You're a great guy...I've known you for 25 yrs...wish you all the luck with this venture.

Maybe you're first customer can be Paul.....;)
Take care, good luck

Mark Gregory

Mark,
Haven't heard from you in awhile. Did you go to the derby this year?
Still doing tables. I remember you did ours and they came out well. You should see them now. lol Paul's getting better now, I see you're not back in Pittsburgh.
take care.
Bill

How much

Do you give lessons by the game? I might have to try some. You didn't say how much.

If anyone wants to play me for money they shouldn't remain anonymous.
Maybe we can play.
Let me know who you are and How much you can stand.

Can I take down Scott Frost

Maybe people who are deep into 1 pocket are supposed to have heard the nickname JerseyBill? If you go by another name or nickname, don't be afraid to post it.

If you still aren't someone that anyone has heard of, I can't imagine why they'd pay for expensive lessons. Maybe you can name some of the people you've beat? Could you take down, I dunno, scott frost? grady? jose?

Nope, Can't beat Scott Frost, BUT , I have a feeling I can beat someone like you. You're weakness spews out all over the page.
thanks, Bill

Looking UP

I've seen instructors who can't play a lick either, and I wonder why they are teaching.... Not implying anyone, just saying. If I were a person looking for lessons, I'd want them from someone who's been to the top of the mountain looking down, not looking up from the bottom.

Josh Palmer,
CAN YOU GIVE THEM?
If not , and you don't want any, GO ELSEWHERE TO bother people. I'm just trying to give lessons to people that can afford it and really want them from a very smart player.
thankyou,

Bill

Money on the LIGHT

bill...If I were you, I'd let your students speak to your "success", and ability as a teacher. It goes a lot further than, "I'm a good player, and I've got 40 years of experience". JMO I've seen many champion players who couldn't teach a lick...other than "you do it like THIS!" LOL

Scott, thanks for your reply, at least it was a civil one.
I'll start by giving a guarantee.
ANYONE wants lessons, the first lesson is 200$ for an hour.
The payment is put on the light as if we were gambling. If at the end of the lesson you don't want anymore or think it wasn't worth it. You can reach up and take your money back, no hard feelings.
That's a pretty good guarantee.

WHOAH BILL! I guess I offended you. But please, settle down... I never even pretended I could beat anyone. I wanted to get a sense of whether you're someone we should have heard of, and if you've matched up with any of the greats in the past. That's all.

If the answer is "no but I really can teach" or "no but I've won some tournaments" that's cool. But seriously, you wanna answer with "No but I can beat you CreeDo!"

...lol, who gives a shìt if anyone can beat CreeDo?!

Don't be so sensitive.Ten guys here are trying to point out nobody's gonna pay top dollar just because a guy says "trust me I'm good". I'm just one of them.

Jersey Bill, thanks for contributing to the forum: its great to have new members with a wealth of experience. I hope you will share some of your hard earned One Pocket knowledge on this forum and on the OnePocket.org forum. Using the WEI table to advertise/market some of your knowledge may show us what you are about.

It is a shame that some members have a tendency to be so negative especially if they have no intent to take lessons from you. But that is just they way it is. Some of the so called elite instructors who post here are a little above themselves in both their technical and instructional abilities. They do pass some great information along from time to time but don't let their abrasive personalities cloud your perspective of the rest of us.

I look forward to what you have to share.

200.00 an hr...........You must be good.

That same 200 gets you FOUR hours with Nick, Johnny, Earl, and Cory.

I give one pocket lessons.
I know the game as well as anyone.
I've got credentials. (successes)
I've got forty years experience.
I teach well.
I charge a lot. depends on where you are and how long you want lessons for.
bill

Bill,

Just wanted to say good luck to you in your endevour. I support anyone who wants to give something back to the game - even if he charges for it and tries to make a little off of it.

Ignore alot of the othe guys on here as they do nothing but bash everything and everybody. They appear to have no friends and this is their only social outlet.

Like I said, good luck with the lessons. I hope it works out for you.

bill...Yes, it was a civil response, much the same as was manwon's and CreeDo's. Mark Gregory basically said the same thing (post some student testamonials), and you didn't "attack" him. Why...because you know him? This is an incredible place with a WEALTH of knowledge and opportunity. Manwon and CreeDo contribute all the time. You're a brand new poster. For you to come back with, "I can kick your a$$, and if you don't think so BET SOMETHING" is childish at best, and a total turnoff to many potential students. BTW, I know jtompilot, and he isn't afraid to gamble with ANYONE. He gets around too.

All any of us were trying to do, was offer you some suggestions to allow people to make educated decisions. You are upfront that you charge a lot...so do I, and make no bones about it. I like your guarantee...I make the same one, and it's in writing on my website. Please be civil when replying to others here. You attract a lot more flies with honey than you do vinegar! :D Best of luck with your lessons. Blackjack's offer to help you get going is a VERY generous (and heartfelt) one, considering your initial posts here. If I were you, I'd take advantage of it. David has a sterling reputation, and is a great instructor himself.

LeagueGuy...You're mistaken here. Nobody "bashed" JerseyBill. All we did was offer suggestions on how to better attract the 'high-dollar' students bill wants to work with.

Bill was to the point and quite frankly the world could use more of that

if you're so sensitive and quick to judge someone you've never met you need to get a grip

scrap

Why is it other instructers knock new instructers like they're stealing action. If the man wants to teach one pocket let him teach. He made the post to let people know that he's out there and ready to help some people. All he's saying is he knows how to play the game and wants to make a few bucks and help others. Instead people just see that as him taking money away from them.

Good luck Jersey Bill and hopefully the haters don't hold you back. Instead of $200/hr. the price should only go up from there with all the hate and knocking you have to fade from the other guys.

There have been a few negative posts including one calling Bill a derogatory name. I am also aware that there have been many very good suggestions in this thread as well

My point was that many of the threads on this site seem to be home to social outcasts who have nothing to offer but negative input on every issue.
