Open Apology to Accu-Stats

I was a bit of a dick towards them, and specifically oldzilla, earlier in the week during the streaming debacle. Now we all have our opinions on how things were handled, and how they could have been handled differently. Regardless, that doesn't excuse my behavior.

While some may have felt a little cheated when the stream was down, I really think the last two days more than made up for any previous issues. Great production, decent commentary, and amazing play.

Though Accu-Stats isn't perfect, and I do wish they would consider fan's suggestions more often, I am completely 100% satisfied with my purchases for this year's US Open.

I'm a little confused about the Facebook stream, did it actually stream any live matches? I purchased the finals only and I saw that the US Open Facebook page was live streaming, but I was under the impression that it was just the pre match festivities.

The Score was 3-3 when it started to live stream, it went uninterrupted the rest of the match. Some people on the live stream were watching both Accu-Stats and the live stream at the same time.


Brady kept coming on the stream in between racks and kept saying get the word out, maybe trying to prove a point by getting Accu-Stats to make a change on something for the future.

I'm interested to see how this plays out in the future, should be interesting.

I know when I clicked on the FB stream, and had the AS stream running, the videos weren't synced. I only had the FB stream up for a moment because the quality was sub par in comparison and there was no commentary.

Yes, not the best Quality, even the FB feed was still advertising to visit AS for Pro version of the feed.

I agree, it wasn't good in the beginning, but the end product was great. That said ,they need to work on communication skills. P.S. Stream 2 tables next year.

Nothing pisses me off like a frozen stream. We need to remind ourselves that Accu-Stats has lifted the cloud of doubt from the U.S. Open. It truly is the premier event of our game once again.

This was a 7 day event with people all over the globe wanting to see their favorite players....

If the stream-company is not sure about if there's going to be issues --- they should give the first two days free of charge, work out all the kinks, make sure they have the right equipment to handle the traffic and, when they're confident that their product is worth the asking price -- then PPV the remaining 5 days.

If I am not mistaken, they gave 1 day or 1/2 free on 3rd day I think
When I logged in 1 day cannot remember which day, I saw free launch player and just run it :smile:

I paid for the Sunday night session and all day on Monday. Accu-Stats refunded both with an apology note from Jim.

YES! Pat and team deserve a huge kudos for bringing the US open back from near death.

I appreciate what they do, and the fact that they do the decent thing and give refunds.

That being said, I don't understand why this happens so often... seemingly every year.

It's not like there's 500 random things that must come together for a stream to work properly. It's not like this is their first or second year trying this. If the venue has working internet, and audiovideoweb isn't down or overloaded, why does it hang up and die every 30 seconds?

This doesn't feel to me like "due to circumstances beyond our control"... they said it was new equipment or something.

Maybe I'm being uncharitable but I really wish they'd hire an expert who knows this stuff inside and out, someone who makes sure these kinks are ironed out BEFORE the first day of streaming, and not frantically trying to fix them the day before finals.

They definitely lost some money from me, I didn't dare gamble on the weeklong package, given the past track record. And sure enough, after buying just one day (before the finals) I had issues. I wasn't going to buy finals but halfway through I caved because it sounded too exciting to pass up. So they got like $20 from me but that could've been $70 if they'd just get their shit together and have one smooth year.

We ALL feel the same when the stream is crap.

Accu-Stats is fantastic and we all are lucky to have them.
