Opinion Needed

tbayplayer, can you post some pictures of the issues so people can judge the product based on what they see?

IMO, I would take the refund and learn the lesson from this ordeal. Check the product you receive before you take it across the boarder. It is unfortunate that you had to pay $225 in fees only to be disappointed when you open it up at home. Perhaps I may suggest that you examine the product at the post office and if you are not satisfied "reject/return" the shipment back to the sender. This way you will only be out the gas and your time.

I am curious as to what the issues look like and would like to see the pictures (via PM if you want).

Has anyone here ever ordered a custom cue to their specs and when it arrived waited more than 30 seconds to open that sucker?????

2 good guys

I have dealt with both Ryan and Jim numerous times and both are very good guys. I don't know what the problem with the cue is, but I don't believe that is the point. You cannot receive a refund anywhere I know of without returning the merchandise first. I understand that Ryan wants a refund first, I don't understand that. I will do this, since I believe both these guys trust me, to be a escrow in this. I don't do things like this, but for two friends I will. If you need me I'm here. Ryan you can send the cue to me and I will make sure you get your refund if everything is like you got it. Jim I will make sure the cue is in new condition, then you must refund Ryan's money.I think this is easy and would end this right now.

I don't order things of this magnitude online for this very reason. I am on the list for two master cue builders and a few years out. I will prolly plan trips to location to pick the cues up. One is in FL and the other is in PA. Both states I enjoy traveling to.

Oh for sure. Add to that, having the cue shipped to a US address and then taking it over the boarder and declaring it so he could be charged duty? Why have it shipped to the US to begin with if you intended to pay customs duties?

Class.

I love this place.

I'd really like to see what the issues with the cue really are. I can't believe that Jim would ever send out a cue with issues/imperfections as noticeable as you are making them out to be. You could probably find an "issue" with any cue if you had a big enough microscope.

Thanks LeLand , I was hopeing he would return for refund . He says hes going keep it now . O'well , Thanks again , To Everyone . Jim

Nice gesture Tommie! I have bought several joint protectors from Jim in the past. My fiance has a set of ebony/turquoise. One of the pieces came apart when we got it within a day. After emailing Jim and finding out that this happens occasionally, he had me send it back to him, fixed it, and sent it right back to me. Did I ask for a refund before sending it back? Nope, because that is not how businesses work whether it is a $50 item or a $1,000 item. My fiance loves how they look :) and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Jim again in the future.

I'd still like to see pictures of the cue and find out what the fuss was all about.

This cue was listed on the for sale forum last night and is now reported "SOLD" by the op of this thread.

Best,

This thread reminds me of one from last year. I had shipped well over 1,000 books to satisfied customers, when a guy e-mails me and tells me the book I shipped him was damaged. He asked me to send him a new book. I told him to ship the damaged one back to me and I would. He refused and became indignant, acting like I was questioning his honesty or something. It became a big uproar on here as he went public about it. I finally just sent him back his money (only $25), after so many people advised me that it wasn't worth it to argue with the guy. He never did get a new copy of my book. Of course, I would bet a million to one he read the damaged copy anyway.
