ALL - I am very proud of Brent and honored to call him my friend.....

A handcrafted pool cue commemorating breast cancer awareness fetched $3,000 on eBay. The proceeds were donated to Fort Hamilton Hospital to purchase a 3D mammography machine.

Brent Hartman of Cincinnati, custom made the pool cue from purpleheart wood supplied by Greg and Debbie Smith of Franklin, supporters of Fort Hamilton Hospital’s Gebhart Cancer Center. Brent incorporated an intricate design in the pool cue to in recognition of breast cancer awareness.

“We are excited to have played a part in the new 3D mammography machine purchase,” says Debbie Smith. “This will give women in Butler County access to the newest breast cancer detection technology close to home.”

Chris and Jackie Horan (a breast cancer survivor) of Texas made the winning bid.

Why cant we have more cuemakers like Brent?

That's excellent news. Congratulations to Brent, he's a great guy and deserves the recognition.

Thanks for posting this Ken and for recognizing the altruistic cue maker, Brent Hartman. Brent's philanthropy grabbed our attention immediately when we learned of this beautiful cue and the cause for which it was crafted. My wife Jackie is a breast cancer survivor who's life was saved in no small part by the technology and equipment that these proceeds helped to provide. Her life was also saved in no small part by people like Brent Hartman and Greg and Debbie Smith who have done so much in advancing the treatment of Breast Cancer and the research of a cure.

This cue is truly a work of art that plays as good as it looks. It will remain the crown jewel of my modest cue collection.

Just prior to typing this post, I showed this thread and the linked article to my wife. She cried joyfully upon learning how these funds were used. I remain moved by Brent's generosity and selflessness.

Thanks for posting and thank you Brent for making a positive difference in this world.

Beautiful cue as well. Dear God don't let my daughter see that thing or I'll have to mortgage the house.

Brent helped me out a bunch buy shipping me some scraps of Irish linen that were on spools. These spools did not have enough linen for full size cues but had plenty on them for my mini cues. Thanks again Brent.
