Phillipine event cancelled

Its too bad when someone spends that kind of money to get there. There may have been some unforeseen unfortunate circumstance that made this happen but next time they might find themselves short a few pros in the line up.

May as well have a great holiday anyway.

Better that they cancel it now, rather than hold it and not pay the players. That's the other side of this coin!

Looking forward to that "maybe".

What kind of equipment do you have at your place, Jay?

A Diamond Pro-Am with extra tough pockets. They've been snugged by the best; first Real King Cobra installed it and later on Greg Sullivan re-leveled it when he visited me and tried to beat me out of my dough playing Banks. Beware of pool table manufacturers who have a smile on their face and ask you to play pool!

hey jay...

shane will have a great time at boracay...its summer here and the cute girls are out there...

regards
ron

Maybe the ABP's sister organization the PBP boycotted the event and forced them to cancel it :rotflmao1::rotflmao1:

Just talked to Shane. He's going anyway, just for the vacation now. Boracay Island is as beautiful as any place on Earth and half the price! Highly recommended to all who visit the Philippines. Only a one hour flight out of Manila.

I'm trying to put together a mini tourney at my house in 2 weeks. Manny Chau, Brandon Shuff and Dennis Orcollo will be staying here. When Shane comes back I invited him to play in a four man Ten Ball mini with these three. $100 a man and I will add $400 for an $800 Winner Take All. Shane said sure, he would play. I hope I can pull this one off and make it an annual event prior to Vegas when everyone is in town. I'll keep you posted.

When you get lemons, make lemonade!

Where's my invite sir :)

A promoter who can't follow through or makes promises they can't keep, imagine that.No recourse for players and very little in checks and balances.

Promoters and players have vastly different mind-sets and that is a reality from the top all the way through league tourneys or 8 players on a bar table on a wednesday night.

Shane has way more than $2100 invested here. His investment is in himself.Mental and physical preparation to be the best.Opportunity gone!

I don't think any of this is funny. It's like being surprised by a punch to the the chest that takes your breath away.I don't think Shane's long plane ride is going to have him thinking about how fortunate he may be that he can go to the beach and see some girls or to come back and swish around at Jay's little soiree.Other than for a day or two this doesn't strike me as very satisfying, nor will it for Shane.Although I wouldn't blame him for feeling less than enthusiastic for the game for a while.

Another check mark for mediocrity and a blow to exellence.

Canceling at the last minute is the joke here. A lot of the players that are over there have good sponsers your thinking. Well, what will those sponsers get for their money? Will they continue to sponser players or say the hell with it...i'll buy ads and sponsor streams. Johnnyt

I have seen the beatiful women, when Pacuaio had the fight in Dallas, there was 3 bus load and they were jaw dropping beatiful. Not all, but it was like 90%.

He also posted that Mika & Thorsten are already there. They've all lost a lot of $$$ on plane tickets & hotels with no tourney to recoup it.

Sounds like a Filipino conspiracy just to get them all there with nothing else to do but gamble. Tricky.

It's no surprise, not the first time. Won't be the last. World Class Hustlers on every level. It's the "rare" Pinoy individual that has international business sense It's like "hens teeth".

They only think about "today". No concept about what sort of business sense it makes for the future of one's company, and they are taught that from a young age.

And by the way, they just might be the rudest people on the face of the planet when you live amongst them...see "their true colors".

You are so full of SH_IT!

Pinoy Billiard professionals that are on the international scene are managed. For example Bugsy or Puyat. So what? Maybe they didn't have the opportunity to go to school or to be a friggin brain surgeon like yourself.

It's the Philippines stupid! Go away if you don't like it! You are one of the rudest human beings! What good does it do to say things like that, so you can get some attention for the day?

Filipinos have a lot of heart. More than you my friend.

My wife is Filipino and i have lived amongst them and seen their TRUE colors.

They were very protective when i was in bulucan province. They also stick together. All good qualities. Its a poor country and they average 1000 to 1600 us dollars a year.

The truth is in the pudd'n darl'n.

The worst leader's, ever to rule the PI were Elected Pinoys. MacArthur is arguably, and strongly...the best leader the RP has ever seen.

Let the Pinoy's run it...look at what happens. Abject poverty, TOTAL CORRUPTION. The history is there. No divorce, the Catholic church won't allow it.

You have a country of 83 million, largely uneducated, reproduce like rabbits in the Provence....

I know what it's like...I support my 17 year old sister in law...got pregnant and had a baby by her boyfriend...A Pinoy Azkal. No job, not looking for a job..doesn't give a shit.

You know how it is...it's in every barangay. diba?

FYI, the mayor of Pasay City, Tony Calixto was the one who solely bank-rolled the tournament.

But I guess he'll be keeping all his money now.
