Hello everyone,

We are filming a short pilot/preview reality based show about pool players this week. The show will be called “Playing with Sharks”. We are looking for some players who gamble and have some type of personality. We are interested in stories from the road or matches that you have played that would be entertaining on film. We will want to interview a few players and have you guys match up and play. The focus of the show is more on the players and the back stories than the actual matches but we will be filming everything. This shoot is for a coming soon type commercial that will be used as an example to pitch the concept. If you want to participate and have some gamble then call me so I can get a line up for the filming. This will be filmed at deep pockets in Alvin, Thursday July 29th. Call me with any questions @ 281-236-3631

Off HWY 35 and 1462 next door to Tractor Supply.

Gee, that lets me know where it's at.

Maybe you don't realize this, but not all members of AzBilliards who read this forum will know where Tractor Supply is -- or HWY35 and 1462, for that matter. :D

There is an Alvin, Tx and hwy 35 is a major hwy that runs through Tx so if I had to guess (obviously I do) I'd say its in Tx.

My question would be why would you wait until 4 days before filming to make this anouncement?;).....or are you just trying to drum up business?

The physical address would be....

1204 FM 1462 Road
Alvin, TX 77511

I don't expect any players to come from out of town for an event this small. So if you’re not in the Houston area this Thursday then wait for us to be filming in a city near you early next year.

I know its a short production schedule but most of our location filming will only have a few day window to put together some players.

Call me tomorrow between 9:00am and 6:00pm if you want to play. All table time will be covered so you just need to be interviewed and play.

Will you be paying the standard industry rate of $500+ per day to those who participate...or are you expecting them to do it for free?

Ms Herndon thats a great point. Will the people have to sign off on the use of their image/likeness or will their be a contract that discloses all this? I think those reality show make decent money if they are done right, I mean look at those guys from "Jersey Shore" they just made a deal to get paid a load of cash.

Since they are shooting a pilot...they just want people to use for the initial ""preview show" that they will be shopping around to networks, etc. The participants in the pilot may not end up in the show itself if it gets picked up. I have done a pilot...and minimum rate for a day is $500...that is pretty standard in the industry. I wouldn't shoot something like this for free. If the company is legit...they should have a budget to pay anyone involved. Of course, they will most likely try to say that they have a small budget...that's happened to me several times. But I've always stuck to my guns...and I have always been paid.
