I have a very good problem, I am going to be putting a new box in my house, I'm very lucky to have a perfect room to put it in, I put carpet 60" up on the walls to get rid of echo, I have a Diamond light over the current box that is the best light ever, I painted the lid on the room flat black, balcked out the windows, dark wood panneling above the carpet and below the balck crown molding. It is without a doubt the best I did on a home pool room, it dosent feel like a home room at all. I put alot of effort into this and am Very proud of it, I should have and am going to put a board on the wall for all the champions/famous/AZ'ers who have been through my room, there are about 10-15 very well known important people in our world who have been nice enough to stop by.

So what do I need help with?? I currently have a great Diamond table, I'm happy with it but its time for a change(for a while). I have alot of options sitting right here on my property-a GC 1 or 2 or 3 or 4; a almost brand new Centennial(all origonal and recovered 2 or 3 times), I'm just in the mood for a B-Wick table for a while, I will go back to a Diamond in a year. I'm going to have 4 3/8" pockets I dont want to go smaller, I have a snooker table going up very soon-so I dont want 4" pockets. I own all the tables so $$ isnt a issue I spent it already. What table would you install, I'm not keeping the Diamond(for now).

I'm going to use green 860, I love the Tournment Blue 860 alot-perhaps more than the green, but I want to go back to green for a while. None of this is permanent-I just want a change for a while.

What do ya think???

i had 1's, 2's and 3's in the pool room i owned. No experience with 4's.

The 3 was by far my least favorite.

All things being equal i'd go with the CENTENNIAL because they are, IMO, the NUTZ.

my personal opinion is the gold crown 3 or 4
i like the 3 because of the counters in the end rail
but you dont really need them in a house so the 4 would be good.
i dont perfer the metal sides of the centenial but the anniversary looks great (just my own opinion)

Assuming you don't build a sub-level conveyor system that would raise a table of your choice up into the room ... :D

the classic Centennial

thats a brilliant plan, thats what i'm going to do!! I will just push a button for which ever table is the flavor of the day!!

I dont like GC3's much, I like the GC 1 and 4's and 5's(but i'm not buying a 5). We use counters here all the time-for action. I have never used the counters on any GC or any table on the rails, we use coins under the rail. I dont play 14.1, if I did I would use beads on the wire. But for games the coin under the rail is the best thing ever. I couldnt imagine not having counters for any table.

What I dont like about the Centennial is the flat rail top's, the beveled angle of the rail's on the GC's are great especially when your rock is froze up to the cushion, when you bridge off the edge being dowm 1'4" on a GC is nice, I wish Diamonds were a bit more sloped down.

Centennial

Eric....no sense fooling around here!

Have Glen set up the Centennial just like the one he did here last week....I'm telling you, this table plays just like a new one! Can't tell any difference.

Glen has outdone himself with this one.....it's that nice.

As soon as the light goes up I'll take some photos....

Eric: Really nice to have that kind of problem.:) I know you said you're not wanting to get the GCV, and with all the tables you have, why would you want another one? Well guess what I'm going to say? The castings on all the GC'S all stick up, just about everything you do to get them down, don't work very well. The GCV casting fit perfectly flush with very little planning of the rail where they mount. The look of the table (BLACK) is just totally awesome. Johnny loves his, and I just put one in The Pool Room where I play. I did 4-1/4" sub-rails, the same as I did Johnny's table. Everyone loves the way the table plays, and the look of the table. Oh yeah, I put the Electric Blue 860 Simonis on the table, not the Tour Blue Cloth. Sorry, I'm saying everything you said that you don't want. If you were in Atlanta, and played on the table, I really believe you would say that's the table and pockets I want. If you like I'll send some pictures. Sorry, I'm sure this was not much help.I just think this is the best design Brunswick has ever come out with. (IMO) Good Luck on your big problem.

hey there Mark,

I hope you been good my friend.

When you did JA's table the pockets are 4.25" Did you cut new cushions for his box? I know you told me with the new desogn pocket casting you cant push them in to make the pocket openings tighter. What is the opening and down angle 53 & 13 degrees? I cant remember- I tried too but it slipped my mind, I just remember you telling me about it-and when the time came I wanted to ask you-you beat me to it :) , whatever it was I remember you said it was origonal B-Wick spec. It is great for sure, those pockets are perfect they are tough but fair-no gaffy rolls. If I somehow fall into a GC5 I want the pockets exactly like JA's, infact any table I want them they are perfect.

Have they got the GC5's rails and pocket castings figured out yet?, remember we (like I really helped:rolleyes: I did hold something once) you had one that was hastling you because the rails were cut in one factory and the castings were made elsewhere and the assembled fit wasnt good as it could have been. The ones I saw at the M-cup were off a little, the proto-type one at the BCA Trade Show was real far off. They have to have it right now, dont they?

Like I said to you in my PM the GC5 really isnt in the plans unless I can find one at a REAL good price, then for sure I would love one set up like JA's. His table is perhaps the best table I have ever played on-thinking about for the last 45 mins(I stopped typing) it is the all time best box I played on. But thats just my opinoion for me only.

I'm knot knocking Diamond in any way at all, I love their tables and 100% endorse and recommend their tables, I just am in the B-Wick mood now, infact for anyone who plays in tournments, is a pro or wants to be, etc should have a Diamond as they ARE the table out there and will be for a real long time.

I was lucky enough to meet Mark last year just before the Derby, he is a great guy, a good friend too. Word in the street is he can play a little, he is a top top top billiard Tech, he does the best work in the South is what I have been told by alot of people, since I'm not from there when I meet people from there I ask about him and man he is very well known there, like Ernesto is in So Cal, I saw his work on JA's table and If I lived in Ga or close to it he would be doing my tables if I owned a room, home where ever. He is worth every penny. There are only a handful of guys like this in the world, yes he is that good. now that he is red and pissed at me for saying this :P, sorry man its true. see you soon man I will be in your neighborhood this winter sometime. :)

GC2 with nostalgic colors would be the tripple nuts. Yellow aprons with a white base would be sweet...

How cool would that be? Be worth a photo spread for a magazine at the least...

buy them all put them in different rooms.. and make your opponents roll a dice to see what table they get......

i thought about that, honestly I did,

I'm very blessed thats for sure, my door is open to any of my AZ friends anytime,

Russ here has a AWESOME restored GC1-origoal colorseverything-they are to cool, even the bowling alley orange would be cool too.

i wish I could open a poolroom and just break even on it, thenset up all sorts of different table, in Clovis Bob Bebb ahd a room with lost of different tables there-it was a show room for antique tables, I used to play on a 5'X10' pool table there-that was fun, I loved it. If the pool economy gets better and my cash flow is real strong I might open a room just to break even-buy a cool hang-out for everyone. I have a real good ideaof what I would wantto do-pertaining to this thread-there would be losts of different tables in it for sure. :)

I call dibs to be the first AZ'er to play on it.....but I'm not sure I'm a "famous" AZ'er...LOL

Life must be rough lol I wish I had these problems :grin-square:

The orginal is always the best fatboy so I would go with the GC 1, hell if it was good enough for the world 9 champs and the mosconi cup in the early days NUFF SAID!

P.S

We want pics of the room, btw did you get my pm.

E,

If you are putting a box in to play on then I would recommend the GC 1 or 2. If you are putting it there for play and show then the Centennial is the obvious choice.

Eric: Sorry I don't have the money right now to send you for all the great props. I do appreciate all the kind words Eric, THANK YOU.  The GCV I just did in our poolroom is awesome, the castings are perfect, the skirts are prefect, and the pockets are all 4.25", the sides are 4.5". I'm not trying to sound like and egomaniac, sorry if I come across that way, cause I'm far from that as you know me. I think I can help you with a few things. Yes I put new Super speed cushions on JA's table and I change the Brunswick specs of the pocket opening to 52 & 13. Right now I'm doing Stevie Moore's Brunswick table all the same specs. Please call me, I might have a deal for you! 770-548-4292 Again thank you for the kind words Eric.
