Please re-size your sig pictures and posted photos.

Oversized sig pictures and photos cause a browser to widen it's "view" to include the entire image. Which means the text now spans the expanded page width. It's a real hassle to have to scroll a page sideways to read the text, especially if it's a more than a single sentence.

Most of the time I give up on reading the thread because the constant scrolling makes it not worth the effort.

An image should be no more than 700 pixels wide. You can change the width of an image with lots of free software (here's a google search: https://www.google.com/search?q=free+image+editing+software&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Most of the image-hosting sites have a resizing program in their "Tools" section.

Two other message boards I use automatically resize any images posted. Another one just rejects any images over 700 pixels wide.

A little effort will make AZBilliards a better place for everyone.

Thanks!

OR... we can
Impose a man-
datory return
key pressing
ordinance so
this guy doesn't
have to scroll
sideways.

FTR the large sig pics are annoying fosho, regardless of having to scroll.

A very large majority of forums have signature size limits. I'm surprised this place doesnt.

They do as far as amount of bytes, but some picture files still slip through.

I agree with bdorman on how annoying the large picture files are. It also depends on what size monitor you have. Even with my wide 27-inch monitor, I still have to scroll left to right sometimes with some picture files.

If I manually reduce my picture size, it works great. I am wondering if those who post links, like say from Photobucket, is those pictures stay large.

Testing testing

Can anyone else see my signature?

Let's see how this picture file works. Sometimes size doesn't matter, huh?

When selling something, I will post the pics in a separate post. This way all the text in the first post fits on the screen and does not make people scroll left and right.

I would think the same could be done in cue gallery threads, etc.

Now sig pics, that's a different issue.

Does my sig do this ? Press one for yes and two for no or zero for a live phone rep

Reading my posts means you consent to my incorrect spelling and poor typing skills.

If I expand the full width of my 27-inch monitor, it is okay, but I usually have several windows open at once, so when AzBilliards is only on one side of my screen, I do not have it fully expanded; therefore, it does exceed the width on my screen. :embarrassed2:

I'd like to see a limit placed on giant distracting animated gifs used as signatures.
Both dimensions and filesizes - large animated gifs really make the page chug when scrolling.

And... I hate to bring it up again, but seriously, big animated gifs of stripteases?
That sort of shit really dumbs the place down.
There are literally a hundred million places on the internet where you can see all the T'n'A you want.

Can we have some bare minimum standard on here?
Why make a big redesign to improve the visual appeal and then let users make it look like a circus?
The number one pool forum in the world should look SOMEWHAT classier than some 14 year old's pokemon fansite.

I agree with this line of the thinking, but you have to consider the source sometimes. Some men suffer from an abnormal or underdeveloped sex life. Sadly, especially with younger members, they don't have any sex life. To compensate, they feel the need to post pictures of women in degrading positions on this pool forum.

I just post a photo of a naked man in response. You know, equal rights for women and all that.

In the end, one can only hope that these poor chaps will soon develop a meaningful relationship, which comes with benefits. ;)

Until then, I guess we all have to suffer by looking at these women getting undressed. They need to masturbate their eyeballs, I guess. It's quite funny, when you think about it. :D

All I know is If I put a pic of me naked in my signature your going to need a wider monitor.

Jose V, yes your sig pic is 1024 pixels wide which runs well off the side of the page.

Here it is at 700 pixels wide:

It's a great looking cue, no matter what size of picture.

BTW, another vote for faststone.org 's ImageViewer. You can do all kinds of stuff with it in addition to resizing. Add titles, correct color balance, etc.
