Polishing Cues

I just got done polishing my cues with auto polish.I have been doing this for years. Am I in the minority doing this? Or do many of you do the same thing and what do you use? It really makes the Cocobolo on the Lucasi look a mile deep.

Ernie Gutierrez does it, although, like everything he does, he has moves. So, even if you are in a minority, you are in good company.

I like to wax mine up too :thumbup: LOL...
Zymol here, and only on the butt and forearm, no shafts...;)

and here I thought I was the only one doing that to my wrapless. It makes sense since the clear coat on my cue is a automotive clear coat. (at least thats what the cuemaker told me!):thumbup:
 
I was actually wondering the same thing recently, but I wanted to know what people use specifically with the intention of protecting the finish of their cue butts. I read somewhere a while back that a thin layer of wax on the cue butt can help protect it from minor scratches or nicks, but I dont want to apply anything that will eat away or damage the original finish. Any suggestions on that?
Im sure there is a thread on this but Im too lazy.:thumbup:

That's right. Car wax works good because many makers use auto clear coat.

if you happen to have a cue with a CA finish then you want to use a polish designed for plastics or plexiglass such as PLASTIX by Meguires...........works much better than other polishes for that application. Same side don't use the plastic polish on autoclears.
 
I use Butchers Bowling Alley Wax, the same thing I use on my shafts.

Makes them really pretty :)
