well how about ive said ill play all around with any american and 1 guy got up and i played him twice for 15000 each time.

there is probably only a couple guys in usa that could play me those 3 games. as far as the world goes maybe another 5 . im sorry if what i said was cowardly and lost credibilty with you.

actually you lost credibilty with me when you make all the comments about how 14.1 is basically a joke.


14.1, 1hole and rotation games are all equally tough to play.


also when you say tourneys only determine who to give trophy too ,that it doesnt determine anything. well to me thats obviously coming from someone who has never won major tourneys.


i played you 1hole 100 a game 8 years ago.maybe your holding a grudge still.
i barely knew how to play 1hole then
i won 1300 easy ,you were a gentleman and seemed like a nice guy.

you do get annoying though with all your comments on how inferior 14.1 is to 1hole.

they are both great games and if 14.1 was too tough for you to run hundreds at then i understand your disdain for the game.

dont feel bad that 14.1 is too tough for many pros too thats why they wont play me.


for the record i like 1hole as much as other games.

If we did play, 8 years ago... where was it ? I would have been 68 years old (a little past my prime) you would have been late 20's.
Were you in disguise ? Assumed name ?...It wouldn't have mattered, you would have gotten played with, for sure.
And if you did win...you would not have gotten no cherry.. (but I don't think you could have won, at that point in time)

Can you give me a few more details of our alledged encounter. I have been known to take a few drinks, and I may have forgotten.

PS..14.1 is a great game...I actually prefer it to taking sleeping pills, when I can't sleep..ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ !.

... thing is at 36 years old, after doing this for a decade for living i dont wake up every morning trying to find a tough poolmatch so that i can prove to a few people or myself that i will play tough matches.

to be honest i get up every morning and check craigslist for my next motorcycle lol ive owned 9 in the last 15 months.

anyway i love pool and competing etc but if what ive done in pool isnt enough for people to think i will only play 14.1 for practice then at this point i dont think there is anything i can do to change peoples opinion of me or my game.

I hope I never made you feel that way John. I know you have gamble and have shown it. Good luck in pool and more importantly life. Hope to bump into you at Derby. I'll sidebet on any close match with you if you like.

im going to say something i might regret.
anybody on earth i will play one of the following games. onehole,14.1 or 9ball.
what im saying is you can take anybody on earth and have them put up money and then i will decide which game of those 3 that i will play them.

they dont decide on the game i do .
if somebody would like to take the top say 10 players in the world i would be thrilled to play all ten the game of my choosing.


if thats not good action i dont know what to say.

by the way when i say anybody i mean efren,ralf ,alex,busty, cliff,orcullo etc. thats anybody on earth just so there is no misunderstanding.

I say, spoken like a guy who is a great player, (who may be pissed because he's behind 3 to 1 in the poll) but still obviously prefers to pick his spots, which don't make him all bad..

maybe im confused ,isnt your name dick mcmorran ,hope the spelling is right.

actually even though cooney gave me 10-8,9,8 that same month and i beat him i was no where near my best at 1hole yet.about a month after that i gave him 9-8 and won.

anyway when i played you you moved nice and played good.

thing is understandably at 68 years old your skills were not your best and i won easy.

im sure in your prime you would have been better no doubt.


funny thing is on the drive to cali where my ex wife and i were heading at the time ,she gave me grief in the car after we played saying.

why would you play that old guy whos drinking etc.i explained to her that you were a good player ,but she thought i was picking on a old man because i dont think you won a game. i set her straight about it though and told her you could play.



anyway we played in phoenix at a place that was kinda run down and had a counter on the right when you walk in. in a small shopping center.

this was about 01 and they said you would play ,i didnt know you but knew at the time nobody in arizona except scott frost could have beat me at 1hole.

i was thrilled when you walked in and wasnt scott and said ill play 100 a game 1hole.

i told you my name was john and you said your name was dick.

i didnt know who you were until a few years ago at derby i asked a guy who that is and they said san jose dick,thats when i knew who i played in 01.

That reminds me of a joke..

Around the mid-90's I retired from UPS and started playing pool again,...only played in a few tournaments. Never really cared for them. Couldn't stand being sober that many hours in a row. (JK)

About 10 yrs. ago, I was playing Cooney and Rich R, RA, Monk, etc, even 1P... and they often didn't like it at all on my home court.
In fact, one time Barbara got mad at Jack, (he was in go-off mode) and she took off and left him...I let him go on the wire, and I had to drive him to his motel, 30 miles away, to get the $$$...not a pretty scene. He got most of it back a few months later though. As you know, I played anyone at that time. (golf or 1P) Didn't always win...but I did play !

Were you at Grady's tournament in Baton Rouge in '98 ? That was the last tourney I played in. Buddy won it.

dream matchup between you and john in your primes would be so interesting. ive seen john play enough (no offense john, u the man), but i think he would get frustrated at not getting to shoot for an hour and you'd get him. but hey, what do i know

Talked to Frost on the phone the other day, he agreed, I should have hung it up about 10 years ago...... But what does he know ?
