These are the tables were the Pinoys learn to shoot:

Wow! Thanks for sharing these. Jose Parica told us about the equipment he learned how to play pool on. In fact, the balls often were not evenly rounded, and the pool tables were outside on the street. If a pedestrian or workman needed more space to walk by, the players sometimes would have to pick up the entire table and move it.

They played 15-ball rotation. When Jose, leader of the Filipino Invasion, came to the States, playing only a mere 9-ball rotation on pristine equipment, it was like pool heaven, he said. :D

Picture of pool room at Camp David where the President and his entourage can break balls and enjoy a casual game of pocket billiards. I wonder how often Obama shoots pool there.

At least the photo shows an 8-ball rack with the 8-ball in the proper place.

AzBilliards Gold Star of the Day goes out to who can name this table.

This was the Golden Cue in New York City, located on Queens Boulevard West. I don't think they exist anymore, but I like this picture because it shows Ginky (George San Souci) with blond hair. :grin-square:

This picture was taken at the conclusion of an action game for a dime. Guess which one lost?

Thats Keith McCready and Ginky! Cool Pic

Bodie Ghost Town - California

When the gold ran out the people just left, now its a state park.

This picture is the reason I subscribed to this thread.
I'm sure some of the people that played there were fascinated with the
game like many of us on AZ.....now they're gone, as will we be someday.
Enjoy every day, life is a precious gift.

...although sometimes it's easy to forgot how much we appreciate living
and playing pool when you're stuck 90% of your bankroll and you're jacked
up over a ball and you're thinking your tip's a little too hard to grab this
slight masse ....and your opponent's on the horn promising his old lady
that he'll be home soon...and the owner is looking like he'd like to close..
.....

PT, that has been one of my favorite photos from this thread also.

Apparently, that town is part of a historic park in California. I hope I remembered that correctly. I believe you can visit there.

I look at that pic and I can see ghosts from days past. I bet that room could tell some stories.

I'd love to stand in that room and let my mind wander. At this point in my life, I have to be careful on how far I let my mind wander also.

This is one of my favorite pool room pictures. It is of Golden Cue in Albany, New York. The tournament has ended, and it's time to go home. The winner, clutching his trophy, is peering inside one last time, contemplating whether he should stay or not, as he watches another player counting his cabbage. To leave or not to leave, that's the question!:grin-square:

My favoite place to hang out . Free poll Sunday and Monday . 3 , 4x8 tables . Rather slow felt , but everyone shoots on the same , so we just play the green .

Kansas, 1955. Don't you just wish you could go sit there for a few hours to listen to the stories & the share the laughs? The boys in the back are polishing their snooker game just in time for the saturday afternoon golf game. The guys up front are getting ready for the friday night card game.

What is a little scary about this place is I don't see any women, African Americans, Latinos, or Asian-Pacific Islanders. I do see Schlitz beer, which I don't think they sell anymore, do they?

Hey Jam, I started to play pool in 1966 and girls were not allowed then either. Even if they had been they would have taken one look at the stinky bathroom and ran out the door! LOL, it was the same place Jimmy Reid grew up playing in, shoe shine parlor in the front and all.
