It sounds great. Do you think it could be made into a movie?

This is no movie or TV show. It is a book and a book only. I keep finding things to add to it, that I just can't leave out. It WILL get done! I promise you that.

You are such a TEASE!!!!

The pool world is going to be in for a VERY PLEASANT surprise.

I'm reading the book POOL WARS , a non-fiction creation by Jay Helfert right now and it is far more than I hoped for. Each and every story rings of the truth and it is as if you were there with him on each accounting. Jay has done a superb job of writing what I think is one of the best, if not the best pool book I have ever read. Right now, I am only half way through with lots more to go and time will tell if I think it is the best pool book written, ever. It will only be my opinion but all I can say for the moment, is I'm impressed, sincerely.

From the moment I started reading the book, I was mesmerized. I read half the book in one VERY LONG sitting.

Jay's book captivated me and it will captivate pool aficionados everywhere.

It will likely create some wannabee pool players for sure.

I've been around pool for quite a while now and I know a good and TRUE pool story when I hear one. Jay tells it like it was as he brings you from one fascinating story to the next.

I'm going to stop now because I have to save some of my thoughts for something else I am working on for Jay.

ALL OF YOU ARE IN FOR A REAL TREAT, and that I can promise you.

JoeyA

First it was Jay teasing us for who knows how long now...... and here we have you bringing in the TEASE reinforcements... Something is turning BLUE..... and it aint pretty!!!

I'm taking my place in line Jay........ signed copy "to grindz....the greatest player that couldn't 'play"

Ken, I can't give out any of the details but I think I can get by with this and say that Jay's experiences & relationships with notable players (competing, staking, traveling, friendships etc) are far greater than I ever thought. I mean I knew he knew who the players were and directed many pool tournaments but I had no idea the depth of which he experienced and contributed to pool in total. His pool travels take him all over the U.S. (so far 2/3 done.)

Jay tells it like it was and you can tell from the way he writes that he is and was a true poolplayer, an astute stakehorse, a lover of pool and a kindred spirit of anyone who ever hit a ball.

Grindz, I am not kidding. POOL WARS is a GREAT pool book with players that you are familiar with and some not so familiar as Jay has been around the pool scene a LONG TIME.

Name dropping....

Forgive me Jay, I just couldn't help myself. The AZBers deserved to know to look for this story amongst all the rest. There are SO MANY and FTR, I have always had a knack for sifting out the BS. You stories don't contain BS and the reader will be able to tell this as soon as they experience your writing style. I feel like I'm there with you.

The story about you, Brooklyn Butch, Keith McCready and Steve the Whale was fantastic.

Brooklyn Butch is my new hero! :D

In case you're keeping track of how many to run the first time through, I thought I should get my name in here.

This is a new era, of print on demand. Original run will be something like 500 copies. Then they can run as many (or as few) as I like.

Ahh, so I do want to be on the list for the first run! Please put me on it, and I do want your John Hancock in it too!

Put me down for a first-run, signed and limited first edition, sure to go for thousands on eBay in a few short months, copy as well.

Just finished reading POOL WARS.

Well, I think I just finished reading POOL WARS. I think Jay has done a fantastic job. Any book that can keep my attention like this has to be really good. Maybe I'm just a pool nut but maybe I really like Jay's writing style.

You're going to read some REAL POOL STORIES about situations and people that you are familiar with and not so familiar with and you are going to be captivated just as I was.

Jay, you do have my vote for the best pool book I have ever read. I never thought I would say that because there are a lot of great pool books out there and I have read most of them. Yours was special not because of our Main Forum relationship or the times we have spent at the tournaments together. I like your writing style and your stories but what I like the most is the way you share the good, the bad and the ugly.

It's all there folks.

You're all in for a real treat and to borrow a line from another AZBer, "I kid you not".
